WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Cant criticise Wenger for turning us into a selling club then criticise him for keeping Walcott for 100k pw.

Like I said - whatever you think of Walcott, he needs to stay. Nasri, Cesc, RVP, now Walcott andd Sagna? Wenger needs to bust his balls to keep Walcott. Put an end to this shit.

He's quick, direct, scares defenders, scores goals, versatile, high profile, marketable. (Not that I care about that but a lot on this forum seem to worry an awful lot about accounts, finances, market value, shares and shit like that. Me? Dont really notice muvh about that side except the price of tickets)

The reasons to keep him far outweigh the blinkered "I dont rate him. Hes not worth £100kpw" argument. I'm waaaay more concerened that we're paying Arseshavin and Gervinho a shitload and renewing Ramseys contract than to quibble over 10 - 15k pw for our best attacking option.

What's the latest? Apparently SSN are running with a strapline that 'the hold up is not about money'

Heaven forbid is another one of our players asking what the club's plans are in the transfer market?

Or is it really just about money? :D

I really hope Theo is being different and asking for assurances regarding what players will be leaving Arsenal shortly rather than joining.

"Honestly Ivan, if that knobhead Gervinho stays as well as that useless bucket of fuck Chamack you could offer me 200k a week and I'd still be on my bike!"

Arsene says 'the desire is there to extend his contract'

Honestly what a bunch of fucking jokers run our club. The 'desire' has supposedly been there for a year or more. As if its not bad enough listening to the great 'desire' we have on the field, we now have it off the field too

Just get the boy signed up for fuck sake and do it today.

We are the laughing stock of English football with the way we go about our business

Theo benefits from the advice of Thierry Henry because he has played in that position. And I must say that Theo's first goal against Newcastle was a Thierry-type goal.

I believe he is a good finisher, he has learned a lot because he is an intelligent player. And because he is intelligent, he will continue to improve. I am always asked about his contract and the intensity of my desire to extend his contract is as strong as ever. He belongs here and hopefully we can come to an agreement.

I think Theo loves the club and the club loves him, and the reciprocity in love is the most difficult to find.

This "love" is not difficult for footballers to find though. If you play well and put in 100%, you'll be loved. It's actually very simple. Ask RvP if he feels loved in Manchester? I bet he's enjoying himself so much he's hardly missing the special "reciprocity in love" that is oh so unique to Wenger's Arsenal

It's emotional bollocks and, in any case, even if "reciprocity in love" was unique to us (which it most definitely isn't!!) it hardly compensates for the fact that signing for us effectively ends your hopes of winning silverware, does it? :? - honestly, any player with ambitions of winning trophies would be a fool to join Arsenal. Of course, if they fancy a hippy style love in with Guru Wenger and the colny creche, then sign your career away and enter the love machine :blah: - It's enough to make you sick. Fuck me, we can't offer them trophies, or tangible success, so we're now marketing our love-ability as the next addition to our "virtual trophy" cabinet? - pathetic.

I've given my views on the walcott contract talks but not the best position.

So here goes.......

I used to prefer it when the missus did the old "reverse cowgirl", this was by far the best position look wise and feel wise.

We haven't done it for a while now.....saying that we've been together 18 years, it would probably take a shire horse to support her

Charlie Nicholas on SSN (paraphrased)........

"I'm as critical as anyone else about Walcott............he hasn't been consistent enough but this season he's done his talking on the pitch......He's been far and away our best threat of a goal...........The Arsenal fans are fed up with us selling our best players.............Hes a 'superstar' player..................

Sign him up and solve the problem

The thing is I can just picture the smug look on Wenger's face and some smartarse remark about 'people were criticising me when I signed him, now they want him to stay'

I am so used to the 'smart-arse told you so' expression that it doesn't even register with me now.

Mind you I can't remember the last time Wenger spoke and Iistened with any real interest!
