Anyway f**k it, they got him from the sounds of Mr bean we didn't even try for him.

If we are going to get upset about any players we miss out on to rivals over the next month then it's going to be a long January.

Deep down as much as I will follow that twat Swanson on Jan 31st till midnight I think we will sign either Luke Shaw or the kid from Plymouth and no one else.

It's one step closer to a new manager if nothing else, probably won't change the buying policy around here though.

Fact is that plenty of clubs have pissed over us in recent times and despite the press getting excited about him I certainly didn't feel he was anything like a standout player for them over the two games. They're far from a great side so the fact alone of him being a regular nowhere near warrants this hysteria in itself.

Until about 3 months ago nobody knew anything about this guy and as soon as somebody cottoned on the fact that there might be a decent player with an English connection playing abroad he suddenly became a great player in the space of a few days. People always have such supposedly detailed opinions on foreign players but be honest, how many times have people seen him play? It's laughable that he's being referred to as "Germany star Lewis Holtby" given that he's received a token 3 caps to tie his eligibility down.

People here were fuming that we didn't sign Dempsey and I know plenty who were annoyed we weren't in for Sigurdsson. Grass is always greener. He may well turn out to be quality but people are making out like Spurs have pulled off a Bergkamp-like coup.

He is, or was, one of the most highly rated and sought after youngsters in Europe. Yes a youngster and so the dreaded word 'potential' comes into it but a very highly regarded young player all the same.

Yep he only has 3 Germany caps but he is the Germany Under 21 captain and when you look at the strength in the senior Germany midfield having just the 3 caps at that age is less than shameful.

Look I am not saying this guy is god or that he was necessarily right for us but what I am saying is it is disappointing that a player that is very well thought of in football circles has gone elsewhere. The fact it is to them lot amplifies this somewhat for me I confess.

I also said I understod the original point that we have more pressing needs than another young midfielder but I also think my point is valid that Rosicky and Arteta do not have much left in the tank and good old Abou will play his usual 32 minutes a season. Is Arteta going to be up to another full on Premiership campaign after this and we know Abou and Tomas are not. I was just looking at a bit of foward planning in the same way the Heebs have done.

At the end of the day he is a very good young player and he has gone to them wankers for diddly squat.

I find that very annoying.
Were it not for his nationality then chances are no English clubs would have been interested in him and certainly nobody here would have a clue who he was beyond "didn't he play for Schalke against us?". That's the plain and simple truth, the media deciding to jump on the bandwagon almost overnight doesn't actually make him one of the most highly-rated young players around and it certainly doesn't make him any better as a footballer.

Deep down people are annoyed that Spurs have signed the name and not the player. He's a fashionable name to throw about when people talk about foreign footballers.

He's a decent young player who has managed to secure a first-team place at one of the better teams in the Bundesliga since the start of last season and has been involved in the youth set-up of the national team. Anything else is just dressing it up.

Now for a little light-hearted relief

Perth Glory are in talks with the management of Stoke striker Michael Owen about bringing the former England player to Australia.

The 33-year-old has made just four appearances as a substitute for the Premier League club this season.

A Glory spokesman confirmed the club was interested in securing Owen's services, but said negotiations were in their infancy.

Is Michael Owen the biggest tart in football or what

I have a lot to moan about in regards to the transfer window but I can't muster the energy, our club is a joke and Spurs time has finally come to pip us for fourth.

When I heard about Holtby going for free to Spurs I shed a little tear in my car. To think, we are making Ramsey a millionaire when we could have shipped him out and tied down Holtby.

To be honest, I think that 4 days into the window, we are doing fantastic. He can't keep penny pinching and not get found out - Everyone and their mothers can see that there are problems.

If he sits on his hands this window, I will feel a lot more optimistic about him leaving at the end of the year when we are pipped to 6th spot (I am a pessimist - someone vital will break down from over-playing - like Arteta).

I can't stand another moment for this clown to stay in the club We are so going to be spanked sideways by Bayern Munich.

Imagine if Gibbs or Sagna gets injured!

Imagine Robben and Ribery up against Santos and Jenks! We would need to get a court order from Islington Council to let us forfeit the match, at least that way it wouldn't be a cricket score!

To be honest at the moment the idea of Robben and Ribery against Gibbs and Sagna isn't that pleasant either.

We could get fucking destroyed. Really fucking molested. It's probably merciful that we're at home first because if they kill the tie off in the first leg I doubt they'll have the heart to put 4 or 5 past us there.
