George Graham,where are you??

Post by markyp »

Has anybody heard anything of GG lately?? what with the shower of spineless shit we have to put up with from the team every week George must be busting a bollock to say something? i know his reign ended in disgrace and the team had slid but hed have never put up with most of the pampered pets who pull on the shirt these days.im not saying to bring him back like the scousers did with kenny, god could you imagine it!! but would be nice to hear something from him even if it was to just give Wenker a great big kick in the ball sack :D

Never happen mate - some pro wenger arseholes (not saying that all pro wenger are arseholes) believe that if people like GG come out and call it like it is then it means they have an agenda against the club and GG is too smart not to go down that road.

Agreed with part of that augie, although I've heard him frequently on the radio over the past few months (and even fairly recently). Although he bemoans us selling our best players and not buying any top ones, he seems to be very supportive of Wenger (probably in part for the reasons you stated) and both last season and this one has been saying it would be amongst Wenger's greatest achievements to get a top 4 finish!! :banghead: :banghead: I think he balmes the Board and owner more than Wenger.

George Graham was top man. When he took over in May 86 we were a club going nowhere. He turned us around and made us a club capable of challenging for titles. It did decline and the football in his last season was absymal but he won titles 89,91 FA cup in 93 League cup in 87, 93 Cup winners cup in 94.He put pride back into the shirt which a lot of the current squad could do with.He did make shit signings himself.Kiwomya, helder, McGoldrick, lydersen to name but a few. He without doubt put Arsenal back as a top club but it ended in disgrace and he ended up at Spurs which soured all the great things he did for our club.

His comment a few weeks back that Arsenal would never win league again was a bit potty. I mean things are bleak but once Turnip is gone......

I think he is living in Spain and enjoying life away from Football. Wenger has an army of people who wont put him down. You can tell that from what we see on TV.

I don't care that GG went to them and I don't care that he won them their last trophy BUT

1987 at the Lane
1989 at Anfield
1990-91 League season
1993 at Wembley FOUR times
1994 Copenhagen

That little lot outweighs it all, loved the guy he GAVE us back OUR love for Arsenal......

The only people who really cared George was Spuds manager were the Spuds fans

As Sammy said his achievements speak for themselves. And he gave us our pride back.I will never have a bad word to say about George.

George graham was mr arsenal. we were after drifting away from the trophies before he came on board, as said earlier he gave us back our pride when the club was at an all time low , he is well entitled to his opinions on the club as he has been there and done that so to speak.

Same here,i think GG managing spuds was all very tongue in cheek on his part,GG has red and white blood.would be great to have him talk to the current squad who dont understand what 'The Arsenal' are all about

This x 100

GG is my all time Arsenal hero - I have loved (in a non homosexual way) players like TA6, PV4 and the great Bergkamp but none of them epitomised what our club is/was about as much as GG did 8) As others have already said he did give the club back it's sense of pride but I especially loved the "nobody likes us but we dont care" ethos which is in stark contrast to the modern AFC who are all about stylish football with no substance  :banghead:

There are not a lot of experts out there I listen to....but when GG comes on I shut up and listen to every word he says because for me he was responsible for dragging me out of the Neill mud and onto the greatest nights in my young life

After Gerorge was sacked by Arsenal he did not care where he managed - everything after Arsenal was just a job for him - and going to Tottingham was probably as much about getting back down south as anything. Arsenal was and always will be his passion. Love George.

Totally agree mate.Watching Arsenal in 80's through Terry Neill and Don Howe days were bleak.George Graham changed the club into winners.Great days and nights out at WHL and Wembley were frequent. These clowns we have got playing for us now would have been fucked off after 5 minutes with GG in charge.

There is GG Mark II already at Arsenal..............Bouldy!

Unfortunately he was only placed alongside Wenger as a token crowd pleasing gesture and actually has no influence at att.

Let a real Arsenal man have a go at taking this this club forward rather than someone that has hijacked it!
