Re: George Graham,where are you??
Sorry , on route from Swansea and failed to finish off.
He is still passionate about us, very much not living in Spain , perhaps in pain !
He is in regular contact with McClintock and the old 71 boys but is diplomatic on his public comments although speaks regularly on Talksport.
Privately he is not too excited about our future prospects and shares the thoughts and sentiments of many of us but has little to gain by publicly slagging anyone on a personal basis as still yearns to be accepted by the club and made more welcome and to be invited to more club functions and celebrations but unlikely whilst PHW still involved

He was at the Anfield 1989 20 year celebration dinner, in aid of willow foundation (Bob Wilson's charity in honour of his daughter) and was very much the main man at the event with the crowd hanging off his every word.georgeknows89 wrote:Sorry , on route from Swansea and failed to finish off.

Re: George Graham,where are you??
The Anfield 20 year was one in a regular set of charity functions organised at club level, and there have been 4 organised by ' S & C Associates' which is Sammy (Nelson ) and Charlie ( George) over recent years and he is always invited to these and he always willing to attend .
The point I was making is that despite his success and legendary status ( in my opinion ) because of the manner of his departure ( and not the spurz manager shit bit which is red herring ) he is still shunned by the hierarchy when it comes to official arsenal events openings etc which is sad.

Sorry, perhaps I missunderstood slightly - with the fans I don't believe there is any issue of him still being an Arsenal man (he still remains my favourite Arsenal manager) and the blazer wearing, remember who you are, where you come from and who you represent could do with a re-introduction in my book. (will never happen with Wenker)georgeknows89 wrote:The Anfield 20 year was one in a regular set of charity functions organised at club level, and there have been 4 organised by ' S & C Associates' which is Sammy (Nelson ) and Charlie ( George) over recent years and he is always invited to these and he always willing to attend .

Maybe the board still have issues with him, but that says more about them and how out of touch they are from the fan's feeling than anything else I guess.

1994 Copenhagen
That little lot outweighs it all, loved the guy he GAVE us back OUR love for Arsenal......
FOUR times - one of those was because it went to a replay

The thought that Graham could come in and change Arsenal for the better is fanciful - its a different game now, managers like him wouldnt last two minutes in this day and age of player power.

Really? Do you not think that moyes and even fergie are in the same mould as GG?Bendtners Drinking Buddy wrote:SammyDroppedHisShorts wrote:I don't care that GG went to them and I don't care that he won them their last trophy BUT

maybe from the same mould but football has moved on so much since GG managed us,youve only got to look at liverpool with king kenny in charge last season, kenny was still playing the old fashioned one touch style, pass and go etc which by todays pass and go looked almost hit and hope, pretty much lump it up the pitch and by the law of averages alone it will land at one of your team mates feet.the past 7 yeafrs of wenkers reign have made me realise that wenker will never have the charm and charisma of GG,and that Mr Arsenal will always be GG to me not AW.LeftfootlegendGooner wrote:Really? Re: George Graham, where are you??
I dunno that anybody was seeking the return of GG as such, and I agree 100% that the game has moved on, but we are lamenting the loss of a man and his AFC pride and principles - what we have become now is a team, squad and club that has no identity and no sense of worth or what it stands for

Exactly, I was trying to post that I wasn't advocating the return of GG but felt that his man management skills would have been similar to that of moyes and fergie but I somehow fucked the post up on my phoneaugie wrote:I dunno that anybody was seeking the return of GG as such, and I agree 100% that the game has moved on, but we are lamenting the loss of a man and his AFC pride and principles - what we have become now is a team, squad and club that has no identity and no sense of worth or what it stands for![]()
