Ah Skizz mate - I'm so sorry to hear the terrible news about your mum. Lost my dad a couple years ago to that fucking disease and I know what you're going through. It ain't easy getting through it but it does get a bit easier with time. Take comfort in the fact her suffering has ended and also comfort in your memories of a great woman. You have my sincere condolences, mate.
Take all the time you need away mate but remember there will always be good people on here if you need to just talk about your mum or have a bit of a rant or blow off a bit of steam. Take care, mate.

Know how you feel mate. Thoughts are with you. As DB says it gets slightly easier over time.

Jessops yes.
But whilst I am sorry for people losing their jobs, HMV was always going to decline once Amazon and others started to rise.
The writing was on the wall as soon as broadband connections became widespread.
HMV fought dirty, they had no qualms about stocking bootleg merchandise which provided no sales or royalty income to the artists featured.
That is theft if you ask me.
But HMV would threaten the artists with not stocking legitimate items of theirs if the artists sued for stocking the bootlegs!
Their decline is a natural progression from high street to internet, mixed with a bit of karma.

In Dublin HMV also have a policy (it must be policy!) of employing only lazy unhelpful arrogant teenaged twats with a chip on each fucking shoulder or "mature students" - you know, those sad virgins in their 30's that still live at home with mom and dad and only have "that shit job to pay for me cider and me smokes, maaaaan...." and have never actually done a proper fucking days work in their life. Except for the absolute arseholes "working" in the Dublin branches (see my rant above). They are basically being paid for not working as it is! Being on the dole would give them more time to do nothing and still get paid.flash gunner wrote:HMV as a company might have been shits but over 4,000 people are going to be out of work soon and if thats ever happened to you (as it has with me in the past) its a shit feeling.
