MAN CITY THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Don't give up - the fact that one of the biggest games of the season has gone down to the wire is encouraging. At the very least it gives the club a temporary cash flow issue because City at home a year or so ago would have been sold out within a few days of the sale, so the money is trickling through later. At least when the next ticket review takes place they might think twice before imposing their latest inflation busting increase.

The season ticket list is undoubtedly going down too. The people have started to have enough of all this. Keep the faith :barscarf:

Don't know what the City fans are moaning about having to pay £62..... A lot of Arsenal red members (and probably some silver too) will have paid between £72 and £123 to sit in the upper tier! And at least their team are still in with a reasonable shout at the title....!

In some grounds the away fans are only allocated the upper tier!!!!

And here is why you'll never see away fans moved to the Upper Tier at AG. If 900 Lower Tier tickets were returned, imagine how many would be sent back if they cost upwards of £75!

It might technically be sold out, in that the club have money for all the seats, but there's still gonna be a lot of empty space in the ground on Sunday. Here's how the ticket hub currently looks;

 I guess the prospect of getting £62 minimum off next year's renewal price is more appealing than going to watch this team!

They were sold to Man City or Man Utd or Barcelona for purely footballing reasons.

Yes we get charged too much but why no belly aching over the £56 they charged back in September. :?

Even by my basic maths I work out £6 difference. So £62 is heinous and the worst thing ever yet £56 is just fine for those rich Arsenal fans

The club does take the piss with ticketting but am I the only one that thinks it's a bit rich for fans of the one club that have grossly distorted the amount players earn which is where most of our ticket money goes are now complaining about ticket prices. :blah:

If Sheik Mansour didn't subsidise them, their season tickets would be £4000 per man, woman and child to pay for Aguero/Tevez/Balotelli etc. :rubchin:

Feel free to be angry with OUR club for ripping US off but don't get so wrapped up in hating the board that you can't spot a tiny bit of hypocrisy. :o

To be fair I think it is a campaign by genuine mancs who are also querying the philosophy of their own club. I think there is mileage in a lot of old school "real" fans joining together to protest about this shit across all clubs.

Not so sure it has to be 'old school real' fans, whatever they may be, but certainly across all clubs, fans getting together re such diabolical ticket prices would be effective.... IF it could be done.

That would be ok if it didn't become the usual Arsenal football club bashing.

I won't lie, I've gone from going to as many away games as I can, to going to the cheaper ones, and the grounds I've not been to before. The worse thing is the cheaper ones are usually in the north west, so if the clubs don't get you bloody Virgin trains will.

Jesus you (Steve_I) seem to pick on everything mate. I was trying to say that the most effective people to get involved here would be people who go to games regularly (and that might be only 2/3 times a season) as opposed to the Chinese tourist who comes once a lifetime and couldn't give a shit what the ticket cost.

No fuss was kicked up about their £56 tickets because Arsenal fans, and fans of several other clubs to be fair, moaned amongst themselves & then paid up as usual. If we'd boycotted then of course it would have made the press but we seemingly don't have the spine or organisation.

"What can we do? They've got us by the balls" I keep hearing :?
