Twitter confirms that Pep is coming to Arsenal and bringing Messi with him. Rumours also that Jesus Christ will make his second coming on the pitch at The Arsenal. But dressed as Shirley Temple. 8)

Pep is going to Chelski. FACT!
Lets face it everyone is going to Chelsea. They signed the very great Ba and are looking at Fellani. Then they get Pep at the end of the season. They just dont stop do they.
Mind you in some way Man City seem to have slowed right down in the Transfer Market ? Maybe due to the immense waste of money they spend on their massive squad that does not seem to have staying power.

Now, can we safely say without any argument that Wenger is responsible for signings and wage negotiations?

This was a major, major argument put forward by Wenger supporters that it was always the boards fault we signed this player or that player and overpaid him, extended his contract etc. Or couldn't compete to sign this or that player cause "Wengers hands are tied"

Wenger supporters already admit that "Wenger isn't perfect" or "he has his flaws". Then they say "its the boards fault"

FFS over on AFC Forum the Wenger supporters are running out of excuses and actually blaming me and you - the supporters who pay his wages......................!
I too have my problems with some of his actual decisions. However, I am under no illusion that the Arsene Wenger before us today is just as much a product of us the public and fans as of the man himself.

What I'd like to see posted here by Wenger supporters is - What do you think his flaws are? We keep hearing........ "He has his flaws, he isn't perfect" but what do you as someone who wants Wenger to stay (and by stay I mean stay at Arsenal longer than 5 minutes) think those flaws are?

I don't believe you'll get any answers that you want here. I'm an Arsene supporter but have never said 'he has his flaws' - that doesn't mean I don't think it necessarily but to ask a question in such a way is, imho, not likely to get any Arsene supporter's running to respond.

The forum mood is one of anti Arsene and, from my viewpoint, seems very much 'let's see who can be most damning of Arsene' and an element of patting each other on the back for saying something more damning than the next. For me, or any other Arsene supporter to try and say anything is in many ways a futile act here as it will get shouted down, laughed at and responded to with "we've already decided that that particular point [whatever point that might be] is wrong and we don't like it so you need to think of another" or something along those lines.

Arguments in his favour, as far as I can see, have been tried to death hereabouts and shot down. That in itself does not make them wrong btw. I do not feel there is anything more that could be said to change your mind.

Just like to know what you or any other Wenger supporter think his flaws are?
I havent seen anyone getting shouted down here for ages since a couple of contentious members were banned.

IMO thats a convenient and weak excuse for not having the courage of your convictions. And also not true IMO. Its more likely that Wenger supporters dont post because their arguments are weak and getting weaker everyseason/match/time Wenger opens his mouth.

Anyway my question was not for Wenger supporters to post in support of him as you say that has been done to death, rather what Wenger supporters think his flaws are.

Ok fair enough. Just that it's difficult to post what one thinks because, as I said, and you agreed, it has been done... I don't think these arguments are weak, just not worth putting here for that reason... it's been done. I still believe them tho, which is perhaps the crux.

Agree with Steve as whatever he says will just get roundly shot down.

Although I would be very interested to hear people actually try and give reasoned justification not only as to why he should remain manager, but why his managerial record and abilities are still revered by so many fans.

Ok - Why don't we have a serious conversation about the pros of Wenger without resorting to bringing in the cons just yet?

(Again, I am of the opinion that Wenger is damaging the club and should leave at the end of the season.)

He has kept Arsenal top 4 for 15 years and during this time, we have moved into a new stadium. He was forward thinking enough to realize that he needed to buy youngsters to fund this project. In fact, I would say that he pioneered this movement of buying up the 16 year olds before the other teams because he had restricted movement with the finances because of the new stadium and lack of market-value sponsorships.

During this time, up to the past couple of year, Arsenal still played very good football. That has waned to an inconsistent state, but on song, they still play good football (albeit not great at defending).

He still has a lot of respect from within the footballing world. If he left, I would reckon that he could land a lot of fantastic opportunities elsewhere - like Madrid, PSG, etc.

Ok - after this I am struggling a bit because I would think that a lot would be put in past tense terms (eg - he used to be very good at spotting diamonds in the rough, etc).

Anyone else care to contribute?

Did anybody actually read my posts?
I asked twice for Wenger supporters to say what they think Wengers flaws.

And nobody will get
"shot down" unless by that you mean disagreed with.

Whats so difficult about that?

Steve_I,

The truth is that if anything has 'shot down' the pro-Wenger defenders it's been 'events' - most of which were both dreaded and predicted by the AMG's and alas subsequently proven correct. :banghead: :banghead:

Toulouse confirm Moussa Sissoko can leave for €3.5m (contract up in summer). Hasn't lived up to 'new Essien' tag, but that's a real bargain

A decent midfielder most likely with some African origin for a ridiculously low price and plays in the French league- he even fits the Arsene buy policy.

Surely even our shite scouting system and mypoic manager would be at the very least making a bid.Thats pocket money compared to what we spent on dross like Gervinho????
We have bought players who did well in France and they turned out to be shit why would we buy someone who is shit in France? I dread to think what he'll be like in england

I want this fucker gone so badly, his antics are just embarrassing  Ive been a gooner since 1979 and like everyone on here i love the club, this will never change but these last few seasons its got to the stage where i hate Arsole more  because of the state he has our club in wins dont seem to feel as satisfying and defeats dont hurt half as much as they should do.
This in my opinion is down to Arsole ripping the heart out of the club the :censored: that he is.
