Except his grey hair apparently

Re: Arsene Wenger - For him or against him?
Seriously mate, you know you are pissing in the wind. Any AKB or whatever we call them today, would be torn to pieces on here in milliseconds. If they posted one flaw they'd have a pack of us saying what about the 176 other flaws we've identified. I doubt anyone is that stupid.armchair supporter wrote:armchair supporter wrote: What I'd like to see posted here by Wenger supporters is - What do you think his flaws are?Still nothing except for Steve_I who thinks Wenger has no "relevent flaws".................armchair supporter wrote:Anyway my question was not for Wenger supporters to post in support of him as you say that has been done to death, rather what Wenger supporters think his flaws are.
Re: Arsene Wenger - For him or against him?
Dunno Chippy cause if you look you'll always see them say stuff like - "I know hes not perfect, I know he has his flaws but hes still the best man for the job" etc.......Chippy wrote:Seriously mate, you know you are pissing in the wind. Not really a problem for them to identify those flaws is it? And they wont get torn to pieces. Babas not here any more and I would genuinely like to hear what they think Wengers flaws are and cant/wont admit it. We probably have more in common than we think.

There's nothing about can't or won't , just that I choose not too for reasons given. In my mind I am right (as are we all I assume) the arguments here are invalid next to the reality. It's as simple as that to my mind... never the twain shall meet. If I choose not to try and defend my view it does not mean my view is wrong, or weak, or failing, it merely means I am content with where I sit on things and it certainly isn't a fence.

Re: Arsene Wenger - For him or against him?
This is how one feels certainly chippy. I think a part of it is the grouping 'us' together, 'us' being [in the eyes of this forum in general] the AKB's, the Wenger Supporters, the idiots, the blind etc etc. I respond solely as an individual. If my view seems to echo those of another should I be grouped with that other? who knows? but that is the case here which makes it difficult for those with views agains t the local 'norm' to know ho0w to phrase things.Chippy wrote:Seriously mate, you know you are pissing in the wind. Re: Arsene Wenger - For him or against him?
Back in the day we only had one Wenger must go member (take a bow Augie son) but over time we have all joined the dark side having given the great man one more season, one more transfer window etc. Now the culture of this site is totally anti Wenger (justified imo). A consequence of that is that we have attracted WOBs and the force has become stronger. It is really hard for an akb to come on here because it is one against hundreds.
Sadly this is one of the great man's legacies and will not end until he is gone.

The fact I have never said either does not necessarily exclude them from my thoughts.
Just like you have posted that you are "dissapointed and frustrated" - dont you think you should qualify that by saying why?
No? Because you chose not to? Kind of renders you argument (or lack of) that Wenger stays as well.....not very good or non-existant.
Pity. Cause I had hoped we could look at it from a different perspective.

Re: Arsene Wenger - For him or against him?
Right, regarding specific Flaws. As I have stated I have never said Arsene is perfect, I have never said 'he has flaws but...'. I would be truly naive however, were I to deny that any individual has flaws.
I am an arsenal fan and therefore I am a football fan... there is not one football fan who can honestly say they haven't got angry with their team, an individual player or a manager... that alone does not mean I want that individual out.
I have scratched my head at recent substitutions as have many. I have cringed at times when Arsene uses some of his regular phrasing post match etc. I would sometimes perhaps want him to express anger at his players and while he may not necessarily believe he makes the odd strange decision it would be nice occasionally if he could perhaps say something along the lines of "I can see how that might annoy/upset the fans". I share a lot of the frustrations with those hereabouts but I do NOT see those frustrations as evidence that Arsene should go or is indivdually responsible for our current less than perfect but by no means disastrous position - imho. Many will deride me for saying that I am happy for things to continue as they are at present as I believe things will come good again, under the current regime and the current manager. I certainly do not want a money throwing oligarch throwing money at it as money throwing oligarchs (or indeed oil rich sheik types) do. That is another debate of course but yes , Arsene has flaws and in my view i have named some of them that you might consider 'relevant' but for my argument I don't consider them so.

IS it possible that it's infectious? semi serious point really. I buy the gooner occasionally and decided to check out this forum recently. I have to admit that sometimes one takes from the vitriol some elements of truth although I hopefully at present still maintain enough insight to see that I am in danger of being sucked in. Is it possible that Augie was the typhoid mary here?
