As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

See - that wasn't so hard was it Steve? Wenger isn't perfect. Hes not infallible. He does have his "flaws"
The first step in your rehabilitation is recognising there is a probllem. Well done.
Next session on uncle armchairs couch - same time tomorrow.
Ok sir . tbh I assumed your response would be such as that although regarding the rehab... ask yourself 'who is the patient here'... be prepared, in the long term, for an answer you may not wish to hear
Ha ha - reverse psychology. I'll have to keep my guard up.

A consequence of that is that we have attracted WOBs and the force has become stronger. It is really hard for an akb to come on here because it is one against hundreds.
Sadly this is one of the great man's legacies and will not end until he is gone.
IS it possible that it's infectious? semi serious point really. I buy the gooner occasionally and decided to check out this forum recently. I have to admit that sometimes one takes from the vitriol some elements of truth although I hopefully at present still maintain enough insight to see that I am in danger of being sucked in. Is it possible that Augie was the typhoid mary here?

Very astute. I have often had the same thoughts. We definitely are self re-inforcing however until about 2 years ago this forum was still about 50/50, but the shocking decline recently has tipped all but the most die hard over the edge.

Augie as typhoid Mary I like that.
I wouldn't say that the forum is infectuous. But I would say that because most of the posters are anti-Wenger it attracts new posters who share the same view and who are looking for a home.
Remember we were all Wenger supporters once. Those like me that changed, changed because of Wenger not because of an internet forum.

Appreciate that; although you were a regular (I assume from what you say) on the forum before you 'turned', you were therefore airing views on here and sharing and reading others. You were in an envioronment that allowed you to change perhaps? Not one that made you change but one that gave you room to speak out words that perhaps at one stage you never believed you would?
Careful there armchair. Carry on along this road and Steve_I will have you believing it was 'something horrible that happened in your childhood' or your 'difficult relationship with your parents' that has scarred you and made you this way!!

No I was anti Wenger looooong before I started posting here. I started questioning Wenger over his refusal to get treatment for his medical condition - signadecentkeeperitis. He really has never replaced Seaman and let him go on too long. Although I have great hopes now for Shezza to become a truly great keeper. But that will probably rely on another manager coming in with new staff, getting Shezza some competition and pushing him on.

Ah fair enough so you were one who found a place with kindred spirits. Agree re Szczesny becoming a great keeper given a fair wind.

See Steve, we agree on lots of stuff. Shall we add the goalkeeper issue to your list of Wenger "flaws"?

Lol nope not yet we won't. I remember thinking Almunia looked potentially very good and thought he'd go onto great things as did others although the truth is now out there it does not point the finger directly at Wenger. The young szczesny turned out (is turning out) good but it may have been taht he didn't and folk would be saying how the fuck could Arsene have chosen such a young keeper... if his progression continues and, as we both believe he turns into something approaching legendary in the fullness of time, it will be seen as a stroke of genius on Arsene's part by some. The fickleness of football is well documented regarding how certain players show promise and fail to meet it and others do the opposite. So will it ever be...
armchair supporter wrote:Yea. took a while to realise that Almunia would never make it and was really not good enough..........
Then Wenger made him captain.
Now Gervinho - a blind man on a headless horse could tell from minute one that this guy is just pants.
possibly although I liked him from his debut, iirc wasn't it him that slapped Barton? always worth some leeway after that imo
