Your Other Team

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I must admit I am, I've only gone to a couple of games because its ridiculously expensive, but my brother in law is a yank and he "educated" me on the ways of the NFL.

I'm actually more of a Carolina Hurricanes supporter (ice hockey) they play about 10 minutes from where I live, and I probably shouldn't admit this but I'm a season ticket holder.

I have been trying to pluck up the courage to go and see Sydney FC this season, but they are so SHIT it is embarrassing.

No wonder the Aussies don't bother with football!

Mind you, their support is fookin ace, they have this 'firm' called "The Cove" (don't think they actually fight but they are hardcore fanatical supporters) that wave giant flags, sing themselves hoarse the whole game, stand for the whole game, march to the stadium etc. I might join in next season for a bit of a laugh.

They take much needed funding away from soccer!
Imagine if the LOI teams pulled in 20/30,000 at games :D
Funding? the GAA get Fuck all!!! thier amateur and rely on sponsors.

The problem is the John Dellaney and the members of the F.A.I like to keep the money to themselves. Where has the money from selling out Landsdown road years on end gone? And now Croke?....in thier pockets.

And by the way Hurling is the fastest feild sport in the world, and how much diving do we see in GAA?

Well said, the FAI are a total fucking joke and they have been for, well forever actually. People accuse the leaders of the GAA of being stuck in the past and "still holding the ban" but even with no actual government funding they have a first class stadium in Croker. Though we all know the GAA has a lot of very powerful friends.

As for diving in in GAA games, if you did dive you'd probably get bashed....and that would be just the ref.
