He says how every (successful) team needs 'Characters' who "not only play well, but step up in difficult situations"...and that when talking about The Invincibles, "There were 9 - 10 players in that team who were also characters as well as great players"...
How True....It makes me wonder how many "Characters" do we have in the present squad....??

Bacary Sagna
Jack Wilshere
Arteta

Diaby looks (and plays) like Huggy Bear the character from Starsky and Hutch!!!

The bloke is right. Look at the reaction that team had towards Van Horseface when he missed that penalty. The whole team were united - you cheat on us and we'll pull together and rub your nose in it. The only way we'd surround a Man U player in anger now would be a squabble over who could get his shirt first

I fcuking loved the way they all surrounded that cheating horse faced c**t when he missed the penno and I was shouting at keown to "do the c**t" after the final whistle Times like that brings me back to the good old days under GG when we were hated but didnt care and if you fcuked with one of our players then you fcuked with them all and would pay the price
Ralph was as hard a nails. The forgotten member of the Invincibles.Got injured and Wenger bombed him out yet Rosicky and Diaby still at the club after years of injury. And of course our idiot of a manager replaced him with comedy Eboue Getting rid of him same time as Cole Campbell Pires and Bergkamp
But they cant take away he will always be a member of the Invincibles and he scored in the penalty shoot out when we last won a trophy.
Just look at the expression on Ralph's face

Who remembers when he scored a penalty away at the scum to put us ahead the day we won there 5-4. I was in the away end he came over to us celebrating like a mad man the passionate bastard. Fucking legend.
Truth is Lauren was regarded as the weak link of the invincibles side, rightly or wrongly.
The majority of fans were delighted when we were seemingly signing Trabelsi from Ajax at the end of that season to replace him, a work permit scuppered that move i seem to remember.
Very good player, hard as nails.
Good defender rather than great, but very good at getting forward and delivering accurate low crosses.
Played very well when asked to play right midfield on occasion, and competently when asked to play left back or central midfield on occasion too.
Strong character, had an infamous argument with Vieira on the team bus after a game.
Serious knee injury meant he had to move on and he managed just 30 competitive games after he left us.
Quality player ,loved the man . The Spurs penalty was great ,if u see it from the behind goal camera his blazing stare towards the right totally mesmerizes the goalkeeper so he can slide it in the middle !
