Kicking The Ball Out
Their second goal today seemed to come from the throw-in where Terry turned in to Jonny Wilkinson and booted in to the corner. This was, you will remember, when we kicked the ball out as Joe Cole was "injured".
The first thing to say about this is that it's wonderful to the see the great sense of fair play from the England Captain. What a guy. What a great role-model for all yougsters.
The second thing to say is that Arsenal players should be instructed that they are to wait for the referee to stop the game in future. No Club has suffered so much through this "protocol" as Arsenal have. From Spurs in 96 to Blackburn in 97 to Spurs in 06 to Chelsea in 08 - all massively important games which we have suffered a goal against from the "protocol" going against us (the only one we won was Spurs in 96).
By the way, how much has Abramovich paid that linesman. The bloke who failed to give them offside (twice) is the same man that flagged Gallas offside when he hit the post. Muppet.

The linesman was ready to settle for 50k but then he saw how much Shevchenko was getting for doing nothing. So he asked for 100k, Abramovich couldn't argue so the ref got what he asked for.dvbrisgooner1 wrote:By the way, how much has Abramovich paid that linesman. is there not a new ruling now encouraging players to continue the play unless they or the referee see it is a head injury
i seem to recall something like that being commented on in the african nations recently
maybe just a fifa thing
either way, he wasnt fckn injured, thats for sure and we had the ball in a nice area!

surely this is as much cheating as diving and could be open to debate as to weather a player could be book for clearly feigning injury when oppo is in advanced positionArsenalForLife08 wrote:yes i tottaly agree you shoudnt put the ball out unless theve got a broken leg or something seios but the rule is that you dont put the ball out until the ref has blown his whistle.. but yehh joe cole knew what he was dion
John Terry is a cheat, Joe Cole went down when we broke forward and the ball was well inside their half when Terry tried to kick the ball into the stands behind Almunia's goal. Strange how quickly Cole got up once Eboue had kicked the ball off. Can you imagine the outcry if one of our players had gone down?
Captain of England, he's not fit to wear the shirt!

I too like it. It proves we have more class than anyone else. But when it costs us? They don't give bonus prem points for class!Magic Hat wrote:I quite like us retaining that sporting principle. The ref's don't seem to blow up tll after the ball goes out of play anyway and would rather we allowed someone to receive treatment
