WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

You should lock it to free up more room for the transfer thread

So another average player is rewarded for achieving nothing, winning nothing and putting in a performance one in every ten games. It will be a pleasure to watch him in every game knowing he is on £100,000 a week for doing precisely nothing. When will it all end?

Look, its a lot of money but there are players out there getting bumper deals left, right and centre. Some of them work out and some of them don't.

Only time will tell
There are players on far more ridiculous deals at most other PL clubs. Difference is that they don't conduct their contract negotiations in the public domain.
And differnce is they are good.

Yeah like Adebayor - he was cracking value for the 160k per week, or Balotelli with his 1 Premier League goal on the same wage. How about Joe Cole on 100k per week, and Wayne Bridge before his deal finally run out on 85k per week.

The club deserve a bit of credit for this one for once

Just because other Club's overpay some of their players does not mean we should follow suit - after all look where it has got us, unable to sell the dross we have becuase we overpay them. I am all for paying top player top money. Walcott is quite simply not a top player. The Club deserves no credit for this deal - signing an average player for over the odds and giving him what he wanted all along when they could have ended the speculation months ago. Another example of the shambles that is the modern day Arsenal.

I was replying to your comment "the difference is they are good".....and quite clearly my friend there's a stack of fucking dross earning at least as much as him.....so they are not all good are they?

Do you want another half a dozen wasters on ridiculous wages as further examples?

:banghead:fucking right mate, that means he's on 1,000,000 quid per performance which is the true way of looking at this.....another wage skiver bedded in at wengers holiday camp for easy money footballers....why do people say well done?...whats he done so well?....running fast without ball control....shambles AFC
