Give Sagna his wish and let him move on.....

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Sagna has seen how Ramsey got a new improved deal on the back of turning in shit performances week after week and has realised this is the way forward to secure a better deal .
I like his style ,this mans not stupid !
More great man managing by le prof !
All jokes aside you highlighted Sagna's lack of motivation a few weeks ago and its absolutely crystal clear in terms of how its affecting him on the field. He was poor for their first goal yeserday - really poor - and his overall contribution has dropped significantly. If this is how we're going to treat players that are approaching their 30s in the final year or so of their deal then what is the point of ever trying to build a team.

We might as well officially become Manchester City 'B' and benefit from them loaning us players not good enough for them but more than good enough for us. Lets face it - it can't be any more humiliating than what we've already become

Absolutely agree 100% - we have a defender who has been consistantly our best defender since he joined the club (and probably the best in the league) and we insult him with a 1 year offer whilst offering contract extensions to wally walnut, ramsey and more laughable the perma crocks rosicky and diaby plus of course djouru    Which of you wouldnt be pissed off ? He deserves far better than playing with this pile of shit and under this c**t of a manager and we all know it. Try and justify the reasons for offering sagna such a paltry deal - I dare anybody to mention his injury record considering the aforementioned deals for diaby and rosicky

Of course all of the above doesnt hide or excuse the fact that he has been dire lately and is not playing at an acceptable level but sell him ? That is a big no no for me

Ever since the rumours of him not signing a deal he has not been the same player, surely its time to give Jenkinson a go

Thank mate.

There is something definately going on at board level we re letting players run down there contracts and then holding the club to ransom once they have 2 years left on there contract they are sat down and asked the question offered a new deal if refuse then put them up for sale year on year this is happenign we dont learn our lesson.

Jenks was coming into his own at right back before Sagna got injured AND he can actually cross a decent ball. Considering his form at the moment it's a no brainer for me to bench Sagna and start with Jenks. I however have not worked a half a day in football in my miserable life so what do I know?

Couldnt agree with you more surely healthy competition is only going to be positive to keep them on their toes.

The last time Wenger dropped a player due to poor form was when he bombed out Almunia for Flappy and even then there was some made up "injury" give as the official reason

No player gets dropped at Arsenal, nobody is accountable for their mistakes, nothing to see here, move along.

This is where the club needs to change they have got Bould on board and nothing has changed still zonal marking etc

Is Wenger leaving the only to change this ????

Surely at any level of football if a player is playing badly the other player in the squad who plays that position is then drafted back in and given another chance !!!!!!

In general I would agree and they may be a case for doing so with Sagna, but not for the reasons most are stating. After all, if you're going to replace him with someone worse - and despite Sagna's dip in form, he's still the much better right-back at the moment - then what are you achieving? :rubchin: I suppose it depends on why Sagna has dropped his standards: is it down to him sulking over the contract offer (which I doubt) or just plain exhaustion after loads of games since his injury?

I agree with your reply but how can players gain experience and excel if the chances are not given if the contract is the problem then this needs resolving either way sign and stay or sont and leave.

If it is that its exhaustion then a rest is what is needed
