THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wishing your life away eh? The story of the modern day Arsenal fan. I'm personally in limbo till May 2014, wishing away the days like some con on death row.

494 days until May 31st 2014, count em down with me :barscarf:

Can we moderate the insults guys. We don't want to get shut down again. And before the conspiracy theorists start. This is not censorship. Just make your point without inflammatory language. Cheers.

Any way I have a botle of good champagne in the fridge for either Wenger or Thatcher.

We all need to calm down and have smile at things. I suggest that we all visit the cannonballs and read Quartz's thread. You'll laff yer tits off.

A little ironic. Not allowed to use a bit of industrial language to criticise Wenger but okay to wish someone dead (which I assume your comment is implying - but maybe I have read than incorrectly)? I know which one I find more offensive. :?

I'm certain that the only thing that will get rid of him is if we finish below 5th and don't win any cups so that there is no European football at all next season.

Our soulless, waxwork majority owner Stan Kroenke clearly has no passion whatsoever for on the pitch glory apart from how that translates into securing the bottom line financially. I strongly suspect the bottom line financially will probably tolerate a season or two in the Europa league, from both the Corporate and (sadly) the modern fan base side, hence I think Wenger will be retained as long as he gets us into Europa League football at least, and assuming Wenger wants to stay. But no European football of any kind next season and he will be gone burger for sure.

6th is looking like a real possibility actually, especially if Arteta remains crocked. I can't see the spuds falling to pieces as badly as they did last year. Can see Everton dropping away but Liverpool are looking like they might go on a good run now.
