Re: Hazard kicks ballboy and is sent off
Why the what ifs? If Hazard had dragged someone out of the crowd and kicked him then yes that would be different. And?
What's so sacrosanct about the position of a ballboy that means no distinguishment exists between 12 year olds and 17 year olds?
If you think that you can draw ANY parallels between this complete non-event and a rape case then I really don't know what to say.

Analogies to rape?
This is getting worse
Might be time to lock the thread, won't somebody please think of the children?

This is getting worse

Seems you like to use a few "what ifs" yerself....northbank123 wrote:Why the what ifs?

northbank123 wrote:Could you imagine if Arsenal had a couple of blokes off this forum being ball-boys for a huge game?
northbank123 wrote:Had the ballboy done that in a local league in Swansea he would have got seven shades of shit kicked out of him, believe me.
Hazard didn't know what age he was a for me age is irrelevent. 12 or 17 doesn't matter. You cant lay your hands or feet on anyone. Thats it.northbank123 wrote: If it had been the other way round and Michu had kicked a ball-boy doing the same at Stamford Bridge to run the clock down would people have been crying out in anger for him to be banned for the season and other ridiculous punishments?
Thats a refreshing change.northbank123 wrote:If you think that you can draw ANY parallels between this complete non-event and a rape case then I really don't know what to say.

Re: Hazard kicks ballboy and is sent off
My reading of it was that the ball boy was being intentionally slow picking the ball up so Hazard nudged into the side of him. Certainly not wrestled but it was Hazard's actions that caused him to be on the floor in the first place.SteveO 35 wrote:
All correct apart from the fact that the boy was already on the floor himself and not wrestled,.

And just because I don't really know what to say it doesn't mean I'm not going to share my wisdom anyway, you're lucky I've been out all day

......and a points deduction (in a pear tree)

Re: Hazard kicks ballboy and is sent off
Just a quick point that I dont think has been mentioned.
It was a goalkick to Swansea. The general idea is that the ballboy was stopping Hazard and Chelsea getting on with the game. That wasn't the case. The ballboy was supposed to retrieve the ball and give it to Tremmel.
Hazard had absolutely zero business going anywhere near him at all. FACT!

This is a dialogue of the deaf. You have entrenched positions and are never going to change. And frankly for the rest of us it is horribly dull. It is a stupid minor incident that has been blown out of all proportions. Any chance we can just leave it?
