Your Other Team

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

2nd Team

Post by essex womble »

I'm in a minority of one here, because Arsenal have become my second team. I was a supporter of Wimbledom FC and since 2002 when our club was murdered by the FA and the corpse taken to ****** Keynes, I have been a supporter of AFC Wimbledon, a club formed by fans, now playing the Ryman Premier League.

We had to drop down 8 divisions to play in the Combined Counties League, realistically I don't think in todays football world we'll ever see a team go from non league to premiership as Wimbledon did.

Not wanting to cut myself off from professional football and admiring the style of football that Arsenal were playing I became a red member. I get tickets for Sunday, Monday and midweek games that don't clash with AFC Wimbledon games.

For the fan who is going to Wembley for the Johnson Paints Final please abuse MK Dons for me. I couldn't stand to watch them. Grimsby's Supporters'Trust has produced T shirts with Franchise Football, Never Forgive, Never Forget on them. A timely reminder of what MK Dons are all about.
