Good idea, takes out the politics to a point and conspiracy that dogged the world cup bids. The top 6 ranked countries should be based at home, as generally they will have the largest support base.
Also they should choose four venues for the semi final and final. Wait for the teams to qualify then decide which ground depending on distance for travelling supporters. It may be cheaper for the fans in the that respect, as hotel and transport window of opportunity to super inflate their prices will be smaller.

As per normal the thoughts of the fans are irrelevent here - maybe it is just an Irish thing but half the fun for the Irish fans is travelling to different countries, setting up base, take over the town and then have the mother and father of a party......all week 
Of course you can argue that it wont apply to Ireland cos we wont be qualifying for a while (and you would probably be right) but that doesnt take away the fact that the idea is flawed. Apart from everything else, uefa will effectively be handing home advantage to 1 team in every group so how is that fair ? Do all these countries get automatic qualification and if not then wont that affect ticket sales and attendances in the finals ?

It's a mess Augie. UEFA can pretend it's for the fans all they want but it isn't. Fans from 24 countries are going to have to hop all over Europe with no idea where their next game(s) may be.

I cant say im a fan of this, I like the idea of having 1 host nation and seeing the culture of that nation shine through during a tournament.
I see this as nothing more than Uefa trying to make a few extra quid.
Im not happy about the tournament having more teams in the future aswel, one of the things I loved about the smaller format was that most of the teams in it where of a good standard and allowed for groups like Holland, Germany, Portugal and Denmark. Now you will just be diluting the early stages further with weaker teams, which again I see as a way of Uega trying to make a few extra quid.
