Cheers for that nb123.
So, the best part of £200k a week to be saved at the end of the season.
Of the others, only Denilson and Chamakh might command a small transfer fee, if anyone is willing to pay their inflated wages, or they are with us until this time next year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Denilson shipped out on a third successive loan spell because his wages and what we'll still expect by way of a fee will be ridiculous. I doubt whether anybody would pay either.
Chamakh possibly may go for a small fee but again it depends what his wage demands are going to be like.
We will cut a lot of money from the wage budget but we have (to an extent) in past seasons and it has in no way freed up funds. Reality is that new contracts for Feo, Wilshere, Ramsey, Gibbs, Jenkinson and the Ox have already eaten up a lot of this. Feo obviously had a bumper deal and I imagine Wilshere was given a pretty substantial payrise also, and I'd wager the others are now probably earning about £10k/w more each.

Finishing outside the top 5 and not reaching a domestic cup semi final is failure. I'm not too bothered about Europe, being a traditionalist champions league should be exclusive to champions only. European football is largely a distraction. A choice between winning EPL or Champions league, I would always choose domestic title. Example, chelski are current European champions and no one is that actually bothered.

Yes they do. We can only dream of winning the Champions League. It was always the goal a few years ago. To answer the question about failure its actually right now.Nos89 wrote:Finishing outside the top 5 and not reaching a domestic cup semi final is failure. Arsenal FC go into games vs City, United and Chelsea with a 75 percent chance of losing. We lose and now nobody seems to care because we are used to it. That is failure.
Unable to sell players like Arshavin, Chamakh,Squallachi,Denilson,Bendtner because they are on massive wages but are crap is failure.
Empty seats at the Emirates because the fans are getting bored is failure.
Finally unable to defend Arsenal as a team vs fans of City, Chelsea and United is the biggest failure of all.

Agreed the better players should be paid more and the average players less
