THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Learn a lesson from Barca. By his tone it suggests the Villa story may be more than newspaper rumour. So where are the "we would love David here, it's made for him "quotes from Caz, Arteta etc ?
The media bullshit is just a convenient excuse for him, yet again. The press start printing loads of bollocks about us being in for a player we're never ever going to sign, the player's club is prompted to say we don't want to sell him (standard response unless a player is completely surplus to requirements), Wenger will then pretend we tried to buy him but they wouldn't sell when in reality he's done fuck all. And so goes another transfer window, he pulls the wool over the eyes of the blinkered masses with his usual smoke and mirrors routine.

It would have been exactly the same had United not signed Zaha. Now I for one am glad we didn't sign him - but had he stayed at Palace Wenger would have undoubtedly made a lot of noise about how the clubs couldn't reach an agreement and how the asking price was too high and Palace didn't want to sell him mid-season. Whereas now it's an established fact that Palace were willing to sell him, Wenger was forced to concede that the interest that he professed to have in Zaha in press conferences for weeks was utter bollocks and we happily watched him go elsewhere with no intention of ever bidding.

Agree with what you are saying but the point bradywasking was making, if I am correct, is that wenger said that barca stated that villa was not for sale and as far as he is concerned that ends the conversation in the same way that it ends it when he tells clubs that his player is not for sale..........:

Augie you actually have this forum ruined.Your constant negativity and vile comments make me remember why i dont come on here much anymore.Everybody is entitled to their opinion. be it wanting Wenger to stay or go ,but to say that you would have him gone even if it meant through ill health is bang out of order.I thought the mods were going to be more active with dealing with comments like this especially since the forum was closed down last time?.You would wish ill health on the most successful manager that has ever took charge of our football club......classy!

Read my comments again you arsehole and tell me where I wished ill health on wenger - what I actually said was that I dont care what reason causes wenger to leave as long as he leaves and I totally stand over that but it is a long way from wishing bad health on the senile old c**t
You dont like coming on here then dont bother. You like coming on here but dont like my comments then block my comments from showing up on your pc. If that doesnt suffice for you then make a complaint to the mods cos either ways I dont give a fcuk if I offend you or not 8)
You think you are running the show round here dont ya?...think you can go around shooting your mouth off saying what you like to who you like.

Bullshit flash - I never said I wished ill health on him and misquoting me by some arsehole doesnt change that

You wouldn't mind if Wenger ENDURED ill health which meant him stepping down........big difference alright, either way you are out of order.

And now you want to resort to personal abuse by calling me an arsehole because i dare to say that i dont agree with something you posted.STAY CLASSY!

There is a big difference in what I said and what you suggested I said - if you want to "be classy" like you said then why dont you learn to back pedal a bit better and apologise for misquoting someone ? I stand or fall based on my opinions and I called you an arsehole (for which I was wrong) because you misquoted me and not cos you disagreed with me

''but to say that you would have him gone even if it meant through ill health is bang out of order''----one of the first lines of my original post which is reflective of what you said in the post that i disagreed with.

You can dress it up which and anyway you want but whatever way you look at it ,i felt that your comment was out of order....along with the personal abuse of ''dickhead'',''arsehole'',''whiny''..etc etc towards myself for daring to disagree with you.

Why is this thread even still going? 190 pages and for what?? :banghead:

Look it's REALLY simple. If you are for Wenger then you are wrong. If you are against him you are right. Simples.

Luke...lock her down. 8)

So we are now gone from me "wishing bad health on wenger" to a more reasonable statement saying that what I said offended you ? I know that you said that in the first line of your response but you followed it up with an accusation that was factually incorrect. I can accept that my comments would piss some people off - it isnt my intention to wind people up but I will say it as I see it regardless. Again I will make the point that I have since acknowledged that I shouldnt have resorted to name calling but you have yet to withdraw your accusation which initiated all this. There is nothing I enjoy more than a good debate so if you think that I get offended by you disagreeing with me then you really dont have a clue - I joined this forum back in 2007 when everybody disagreed with me and that was just fine with me.
If you want to have a go at me (and this isnt the first time is it ?) then at least have the balls to do it based on what I actually say and not based on what will help you have a pop

I will leave you to argue away with yourself on this one.I have stated quite clearly why I objected to your post as you well know at this stage. If you want to get into a debate on the huge difference between wishing ill health on the manager versus hoping he gets the sack or leaves his post through ill health ,i'll leave you to it.Only you could think that there is a huge difference and one is more acceptable than the other!!At the end of the day you are talking about a man that is the manager of the football club that you claim to support, and to claim that you are ok about the fact that he could leave the job through ill health says enough.

Next time i'll keep my ''part time'' opinions to myself eh forum veteran?? :D

the same as us all im sure Augie. But whether you like it or not Wenger IS PART of the club that you so vehemently proclaim that you love and rightly deserves a little respect.

This seems to be the argument flushed out here quite alot ''I have supported the club long before wenger came along and will support it long after he is gone ''-do you honestly believe that any Arsenal fan will seriously stop supporting the club once Wenger leaves?

We all love the club and all have our opinions, similar or varying, right or wrong, but there are ways of expressing these IMO.

Looks like frd is not going to sign any one. Instead of having out side chance for league title, it is again going to be nervous 4th place fight.
