Wake Up & Smell the Coffee Mr Wenger
To start with, Arsene is a God in my eyes and we wouldn't be challenging or playing the way we are if it weren't for him!
BUT, let's be realistic, apart from Rosicky for Eboue(why is a top Premiership side playing a right back on the wing?No alternatives?), Sunday's team was our STRONGEST and it wasn't good enough!
Swallow your pride Arsene and admit that we can't move forward with the "kids"! They are "Show Ponies", look very pretty, run for 90 mins, but you need the mix of experience and a Viera/Adams character(s) amongst the squad to carry them through. What sort of example did Gallas show against Birmingham, then slagging off Theo(mindgames?). Gallas should concentrate on defending and leave the attacks to the forwards.
Arsene MUST spend big in the summer, we keep hearing he has the money available. FUCK the prices, we all know they're unrealistic, but if we don't, manure and chavs certainly will and even the scum will start to overtake us!
Comments please.

Show ponies? You must have been watching a different league to me this year, these so called show ponies are 3rd in the prem (with a good chance for at least 2nd), in the quarters of the champs league (with a very good chance for the semis) and got to the semi of the carling cup.
Show ponies is incedibaly insulting to what may become one of the great teams. AW is a god and belives Eboue will make a better wide mid than rb. I agree he is bad in mid but was worse in defence. Yes the team is weak in places, both left and right mid.
As for the strongest team...don't agree. On paper maybe, but, we are missing Eduardo who I think would have exposed a lack of pace on the Chavs defense, both the goals we conceded were after Sagna left the pitch. Hleb, Ade, Fabregas, Toure, RVP and Clichy are all struggling for form. I am not making excuses but that was not the team that was winning left right and centre at the start of the season...that was our strongest team. We do need to strengthen before next season.
Next year we WILL see the third great team AW will produce. 50 games unbeaten...starting Bolton on sat.

Agree to a certain extent.
Look at our most recent title sucess in 03/04 Keown, Vieira, Lauren, Parlour and even Bergkamp & Lehmann wouldn't take shit from anyone...in this one we dont have any real fighters in the team, Gallas I think to a certain extent but theres nobody that the opposition would be in fear of, we've got a lot of flair but not much bite sadly.

To win the title next year we have to spend £40m plus and buy up to six new players. We have a 60,000 stadium plus Sky money and money from the CL.If not will will finish 3rd next season because Man Utd and Chelsea WILL spend big in the summer.
I think i wrote the same thing at the end of last season

What was that saying Wenger came out with about Caviar and Sausages a good few years back? I recall the 3 seasons we went from the 98 double to the 02 being pretty barren in title pushes with the like of Petit, Adams, Vieira and Keown the mainstays of the team. Even from that double to the unbeaten year we didn't really push all the way for the title for 2 seasons did we? Since Chelsea came along with all their money it took Utd 3 seasons to win the league again. Whilst spending big every year. Wenger is buliding this team along and I can see a new Vieira like warrior in Flamini, a Bergkamp like presence in Fabregas pulling the strings, one of the world's top stirkers in Van Persie (Fit yes if he stays fit). If next season we fall away again I'd be very surprised, this team will be huge if we can keep them all together, they were awsome for nearly 3/4 of this season and have only just fallen away. Next year we'll be stronger, and I do agree a few tweaks here and there, such as someone who can truley play wide left or right, but just minor tweaks and we'll be looking at AW's Arsenal MARK 3.

Fabby & Matt M, very wise sages indeed!
Are you really satisfied with 3rd in the prem, champs league qf/sf at best, humiliated by the scum and manure this season?
I haven't supported Arsenal for the past 38 years to be content with mediocrity!

1) No! I am never satisfied with mediocrity and I have not supported Arsenal 25 years to be content with mediocrity. I will only be satisfied when we win everything we compete in and that includes youth, reserves and the ladies!
2) Compared to last year yes I am satisfied: last year we came 4th in the league and got knocked out in the first k/o round of the CL - it is an improvement;
3) My point was predominatly in relation to the show ponies comment. Yes I agree the teams needs tweaking in a number of positions. But of 3/4 of the season we have been there. Yes we have fallen back a little and lost form. The fact our 'best' team is out of form shows our weakness in terms of squad.
I honestly believe this season was too early for us. Provided AW does make a few additions this summer, which I think he will, next season will be great!
Arsenal will never, ever, be mediocre!
