No surprise Gibbs is out for longer than the original 3 weeks. Play Jack there, he's so good he'll do a better job than santos. Jenkinson made his debut as left back, Ignasi can play there too. He'll probably put podolski there with gervinho in front of him. Now there's an alternative left wing combination.

I am really not keen on Vermaelen as a left back, I think he looks clumsy there.

For the Bayern game would rather see if Meade is fit (unlikely, I think he will not be back until mid-March?) or try Koscielny there in a league game beforehand to see how he does?

Although on a serious note I can't believe that Quartz would rather put a youngster with no experience or a right-footed CB in that role above someone who has played the role before at both club and international level - even given his less than stella current form. :? :? Indeed, him playing out there might mean he'd be able to concentrate on just stopping the wide man and maybe leave him and the defence in general less vulnerable, due to TV not shooting off down the line like a winger all the time. :rubchin: :rubchin:

Meade is injured too, one month away from a return from ankle ligament damage.

I do not rate Vermaelen at left back though, and Miquel has looked shaky there.
Could Koscielny play there?

Failing that both Coquelin and Yennaris can tackle, but neither is a left sided player and Coquelin is injured.

Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill looks far too raw to be near the first team yet.
we're scraping the barrel now arent we Quartz
Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill added to Champions League squad.
