As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
They have just gone and beaten moneybags Real Madrid after pummeling moneybags Shitty whilst winning their domestic league and cup double last year against moneybags Bayern Munich.
Why does this make me depressed?
Its because a couple of years ago that this was the vision we had for Arsenal. Top quality talent brought through the system, playing an exciting brand of football whilst still breeding a winning mentality. Dortmund have been absolutely outstanding in doing all these things whilst still keeping the books balanced. I would have settled for the lack of silverware if I felt we were moving forward on these fronts but our slide into mediocrity and corporate greed has left me feeling disillusioned- we were fed the dream and we have been patient with it but the club has stalled and lost its soul
I know it sounds like another anti-Wenger rant but seeing Dortmund play and the way they really involve their fans and buy into an attacking brand of football makes me feel depressed.
Where has this vision gone wrong? Was I deluding myself to think we could have been like them or did others buy into the dream we are now seeing another team live out?
They weren't afraid to spend big when necessary, snatching Reus. Klopp is a really good manager, their board does every thing they can to make the team competitive.
We're just a lost weakened team with stockholm syndrome
Its a fascinating insight into a club on the rise. The team spirit seems to brilliant and Klopp seems to have an infectious personality and his enthusiasm rubs off on the players. A real motivational manager with a fantastic team, you can tell why they've had so much success
