Haven't posted anything for nearly a hundred years - this thread seems as good as any.
Worst players over the past few years?
Can't see why Cahsley's in there - he was a great player (greedy, obnoxious fool...but a very good defender).
Richard Wright was also a good 'keeper but wasn't prepared to hang around so really cooked his own goose. And I'll always stick up for JJ - he was just unlucky in that he was perhaps an average defensive midfield player playing in a midfield of very average (not to mention shite, Mr Selly) other midfield players. And Kryten aint that bad. And Vivas? A hero surely - mad, bad and totally (over) comitted. What a guy!
But for the real felons - those you really do have to believe your granny would be better than....step forward:
Eddie (aka "Fuck Off") McGoldrick - more pants than C and A.
Igor ("actually it's Eegore") Stepanovs - I can still see the ball sailing over his head as Man Utd put the sixth past us.
Francis Jeffers - Fox in the Box? Fuck's in the Arse more like.
Glenn Helder - might have been able to be "dancing on the ceiling" but could barely put one foot in fronmt of the other on the pitch.
Ian Selly/David Hillier/Steve Morrow. The Three Degrees. If only they had the footballing talent of the actual Three Degrees.
Emmanuel Eboue - Very good footballer. Very bad actor. A disgrace.
Jimmy Carter - as with the "Baby Love" trio above, if only James was as good at football as his more famous American President namesake. At least we might have got some peanuts (which is close to the word "penis" - another good description of Jimmy Carter the Arsenal..er..star).
Chris Wreh - Unbelievably crap though he did score a few important goals. Well, one against Wimbledon I'm sure. Great goal celebration as well - maybe I should take him out (of this list, not for a date).
Alexander Song - .....Words fail me. Useless.
Probably think of loads more just after I post this.
How about a vote for the worst one (in recent years)? My vote goes to Fuck Off. A depressing player in a depressing team. And to think we actually gave Crystal Palace money for him. Or beads. Maybe it was shopping vouchers. Whatever it was, it was too much.

I thought Shaaban performed well for us, just didn't get many games.
Should we use current players, for example Song, hasn't had much chance for us but done well for club and country this season and he is a squad player, he probably won't ever be in the list of all time greats but he isn't bad. Wait till someone leaves before putting them on the list as it might come back to haunt you

Criticism of Padcal in the context of Arsenal's worst ever, is scandalous. A bit like saying Keates couldn't write poetry.
Pascal was - whilst not great !? - far better than many.
Surely the 'worst' must include those who either didn't try or didn't care ?
Even if they weren't 'Great' but did care for us, then they are absolved from blame in my view.
Having said all that, the following were not exactly committed to/for us as footballers:-
Baptista, Jeffers, McGoldrick, Jeff Blockley (tried but failed!), Jensen (not bad per se but rubbish for us, like Baps), Pal Lyderson !!!!!, Reyes (no committment and totally overpriced!)
Like I say, if they were poor but tried - then I can sympathise.
Dear John Matthews was not the greatest but really tried and was shamefully barracked by the crowd in the '70s. Likewise John Kosmina could have been good if Neil had played him for 20 minuites and not 20 seconds !!
It's all down to perspective
He did score another absolute cracker one night at Highbury I remember being there but for the life of me can't recall the opposition. He Cruyff turned in the midfield surged forward and right footed banged one in the top corner. Don't forget he also started in the 94 Cup Winners Cup triumph so has a good two claims to fame.

Morrow was a limited but honest player.
He was used to great effect in our Cup Winners Cup runs in 94 and 95 as a holding midfielder.
He used to mark the opposition's creative midfielder very well.
Am sure Graham gave him orders to stick to his man like glue, and he followed them.
Not an all time worst 11 for me at all.
Criticise me if you like, but after contributing to a similar thread earlier in the year, I have decided I will not criticise any Arsenal player for their talent.
For their application yes, but not for limited skills.
So I am not gonna name any players for this poll in a negative way.
