Players who for whatever reason never made it

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

What's in common with all these kids is their attitude stank!

Theo would have easily joined them but his attitude saves him.

Who remembers Kerrea Gilbert? I thought he had a great career ahead of him here after watching him make his debut against Wigan in the league cup semi at Highbury when he set Henry up for his goal and looked very bright. Went out on loan somewhere after and everything went downhill since.

Just read it. Very good piece. When you think of dickheads getting paid so much at 18/19 now and thinking they're billy big bollocks, it's strange how different footy was.

Thing that stood out to me was how much the crowd booing effected him. Took him 14 years to get over it... I wasn't at that winterslag match but have heard the booing was horrific.
That's why I personally can never boo our own. I think the arsenal has always had a few too many boo boys.

Aliadiere had a lot of hype around him and in his younger days looked as if he was going to break into the first team. Perhaps more so after Dennis retired.

Efstathios ''Stathis'' Tavlaridis looked promising in reserve games he played and early League Cup games he played but never managed to push Sol or Kolo for their positions. Once he left he made a name for himself in France though.

Lupoli - the future of Italian football. Now playing in Serie B.

Gilbert played for Shamrock Rovers for a season. Don't think he is still there, on the same theme the season before last Shamrock Rovers had a former Arsenal prospect on their books ..one Rohan Ricketts . Graham Barrett was another ex Arsenal player/prospect that ended up in Shamrock Rovers.

Got his autograph on the steps of Highbury the day before the 1993 League Cup Final. The reserves had lost 0-2 to Southampton.

Not so much didn't make it but I always thought Robert Enke to be a decent 'keeper but due to personal demons he took his own life.

Such a tragic loss.

At the time of his death he was being touted as the first choice 'keeper for Germany in 2010.

I actually read the book of his life story - it was mostly written based on stuff he had written himself during his career and it was a really sad read :(
