Can't believe how many corners we had yesterday and not once did we try a short corner or something different . Do we have no imagination or prepardness to innovate or take responsibility for trying something creative ??
Are these players so lacking in confidence that they are too scared to take a risk ?
We are so predictable in everything we do except when Jack or Santi have the ball.
The biggest joke was when we won a corner in the first half and no player even went to take it before someone told the Ox to do it .

How is it possible that professional footballers fail to get the ball off the ground when it's placed in the quadrant. Nobody is expecting lethal corners every time but I'm not talking about slightly underhit, a bit too close to the keeper or floated too much corners. Our corner-takers (yesterday especially) but frankly as far back as I can remember consistently hit the first man at shin-height. It's like they forget how to kick a football properly.

youd think theyd be queing up to take the corners as lets face it when we do get a corner and swing it in to the box we invariably do fuck all with it,at least the corner taker doesnt have to put their overpaid pretty face or spindly leg flying in to meet the ball and risk a knock in scoring ,heavens forbid.bunch of women

Doesn't help that everyone just stands there waiting for the corner to land on their head - unsurprisingly on the rare occasions that it clears the first man then they're standing miles too close to the keeper or they get outjumped by a more powerful and committed defender. Watch teams who score goals from set pieces and you'll see that their players tend to run from deep, and they attack the ball late and hard. For years now we've had players queueing up around the six-yard box before the ball's even delivered - aside from the fact there's a lack of aerial prowess in our team how do we expect to get a fair return of goals from corners like this?

Our only players that attack the ball in the air are Vermaelen and sometimes Giroud. Clearly nowhere near enough time is dedicated to set-pieces in training at either end. The deficiencies are so fundamental that they wouldn't be tolerated at amateur level.

Our corners, like our substitutions, are pre scripted and do not allow for deviation in any way, shape or form When you are told to defend corners zonally then how can you practice attacking corners any differently ?

Wenger ultimately cost us, and his stupid 70min 3 man substitution highlights just how desperate our manager has become.
