THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Why don't they have a vote as you walk through the turnstiles? Drop a card in a box for 'Wenger out' or 'Wenger stay'. Like a democratic football club. As long as most fans are happy for him to stay then who are we to argue? Have most fans really turned against him now? Hard to tell frankly.

I'm done too if this happens.
I'm not gonna support, but I will watch games of the club we should be like and their players who (some of them) should be ours already - Dortmund.
My heart belongs to Arsenal, but if Wenker gets new contract, I sadly won't give a damn what happens to this "football" club until board leaves.

It is the constant downward drift that is killing me. If there was even a tiny light at the end of the tunnel I might be patient, but for at least 3 or 4 years each season has been worse than the last. I know we many have a go at AKBs, but are there ANY fans who are content with things as they are? Blackburn, Bradford, Norwich, Swansea etc are all nails through the heart.

I was teaching a class and one of my students asked what an autograph was (as opposed to a signature). I dug out my poster with the autographs of the 71 double-winners and I genuinely started to fill-up when I thought of the club now.

The only thing that was keeping me sane and hopeful was the thought of him leaving at the end of his contract. If he extends it Arsenal PLC can fuck right off as far as I'm concerned.

I always thought it would be a sad day when Wenger eventually goes, he's one of the greatest managers in our history and we do need a new manager but it would still be a sad day but the longer this farce goes on the more i'm despising him and the people who are running the club. Its reached the point where i will dance with delight wherever i am when i find out he's left my club

Did make me laugh yesterday on twitter people posting shit about Wenger like 'before yesterdays game Arsene Wenger donated £xxx amount towards someone charity foundation, mark of the man' etc etc etc which people like John Cross retweeted...... Thats right steer well clear of footballing matters and bum him up over other stuff..... The Nazis would have been proud of the propaganda coming from the club and AKB's :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I think that is a large problem with the AKB's - they view Wenger as an educated and cerebral man who is well-read enough to have opinions on just about everything and he is a decent guy compared to other cretins in football. So they elevate him to an untouchable status regardless of what they see on the pitch.

Was talking to one of them who is convinced that whomever we appoint after he leaves, will get us relegated and Wenger will go on to CL glory at Madrid or PSG. It is almost like Wenger is a relative or someone's dad to be him defending like they are.

Been scouring the tweets from yesterday here it is
Nigel Adderley ‏@nadderley
Before he faced the media yesterday, Arsene Wenger gave David Oates' widow Charlotte a letter and charity donation. Measure of the man #AFC
Retweeted by John Cross
I dont doubt its a nice thing to do but surely its the club who donated not out of Wengers own pocket and why bring this up? Propaganda

It's a wind-up designed to provoke. From what I have seen here, it's done a pretty damn good job. Maybe Red Member wrote it....
