As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Supagoon wrote:The end of this season would be correct thing to do, but I certainly fear for the club if wenger were to leave in 5 months, the men left in charge have not shown capable of making any progressive decisions for this club. If stanley isn't going to sell then he needs to do something useful for the club and get some football men at this club who care for its welfare and having the ambition and vision to take it forward.
As a sign of respect on both fronts wenger should be allowed to go at the end of his contract.[/u] This is not ideal because it still means we waste a year of having to watch another wenger team fumble there way through a season. It should buy us enough time to cut the umbilical cord from the wenger womb and set ourselves free into this brave new world.
As a sign of respect wenger should be given the chance to resign.....if he declines then he should be fired, (comment deleted by IHH) or whatever way it takes to get him the fcuk out of our club
I think the time for debate has passed, we just need Wenger out right now. Our club is rotten to the core if this clown is offered yet another contract. No need for anyone to come on with long winded posts about the reason for change, let's all just accept we need change as our club is just too comfortable with defeat and failure.
When Bergkamp was getting to the end of his contract there was a clamour from the fans (who know nothing about football as they haven't managed for 30 years ) to get him signed up to a new one.
I wonder if there will be any such thing from the fans to encourage the board to offer Wenker such a deal ?
Usually I'd be totally against changing manager mid season as it can cause chaos and be detrimental to the team. But in Lord Venger's case I'd see him off tomorrow tbh. Things could not get worse. We are out of every competition in mid February ffs. We can't get relegated and we will (most probably) get that 4th place spot either way because most of the teams around us are a bit shitter than we are. So a mid season change can't do any harm IMHO.
I agree though he should be offered the opportunity to resign and go with some shred of dignity. I want him gone more than I've ever wanted ANY Arsenal manager gone, but I don't hate him and still respect and love him for what he did for our club. The man is an Arsenal Legend - no matter what the ultra-doomers on here say. 2 doubles, the Invincibles, and all playing the sort of beautiful football the much wanked over "true footballing clubs" scum and Wham could only fucking dream about.

Good shout on Bouldy, Flash. At the very least he could then actually coach some defending basics into our defenders.
