As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
In total agreement marky. Sadly, despite their protestations the AKB's do not love our club enough to open their mind and see how bad things really are.
So if your loyal to Wenger you dont love the Arsenal ,ok fair enough your entitled to your opinion, but you could turn it around and say its the wob who dont love the club enough, why ? because despite you opening your mind to how bad things really are you have done what?
when and if the time comes that I want him gone then I hope that I will be more active than just moan and curse and label other Arsenal fans on the internet
Have to agree with Herbert here. Many Arsenal fans still support Wenger for a variety of reasons and I don't agree with labelling them all with the "Don't love the club" tag. It's a cheap shot. I want Wenger gone (dear God, how I do) but I accept that many of my fellow Gooners don't and they are entitled to that opinion.
Surely every fan has love for the bloody club or else they would not feel strongly enough to argue the point. However i just can no longer understand how people who have the clubs best interests at heart can fail to see Wengers failings. This man has signed weak player after weak player and spent a large amount of our wage budget on these players.I have never heard him take any of the blame for defeats OR blame the board OR blame the players - its someones bloody fault isnt it - and as the main spokesman for the club he needs to shoulder the blame or tell us where he thinks the blame lies.
Not sure that I 100% agree with ye there lads - many (and I include myself in that) believe that those still supporting wenger are doing so out of love for arsene fc rather than Arsenal FC. What possible reason can anybody have for believing that wenger can turn this fiasco around other than the fact that he won trophies for us 8 years ago ? Is sentimentality a valid reason ? Would wenger have enjoyed even half the amount of loyalty he currenttly enjoys if he was appointed 4 years ago ? Some might try to defend him and cite finances as a defence (despite all the evidence to the contrary) but it totally ignores a whole book of issues regarding his tactics andplayer assesment/recruitment If people feel that wenger shouldnt be abused cos of his past glories then that is fair enough but to support wenger based on nothing but sentiment and/or loyalty is absolutely putting arsene fc above your commitment to Arsenal FC and that is unacceptable imo
Sentiment clearly plays a role but its perhaps not the only reason. We're shit but we're not complete shit, its an old adage that things can always get worse, look at liverpool etc etc.
I can see the reasoning behind this argument although I dont buy it, at least not as a reason to persist with the status quo. Our standards have slipped to a level that I don't think are acceptable but I dont think it makes me a better fan then people who are still just about contented.

You will find that there are many on here who have wanted Wenger out for a while longer than that!
When did you want him out?
For this Forum, I defended him longer than most because I felt we owed him loyalty for the great things he did up to 2005, and the decent job at rebuilding the team he made from 2006 - 2008.
I thought he was owed another chance to rebuild.
But summer 2011 I had enough of Wenger's failure to organise a team defensively.
And this past summer I realised Kronke was a waste of time.
People like Augie and GoonerSid have wanted a new boss from 2009, perhaps before.

Since the 3-1 champs league loss to united, last match I attended!
Allegri mentioned as worthwhile about sounding out as a replacement a few pages back but some others doubted him. But him, and Conte at Juventus have got something about them, though have no idea if they have any wish to leave their current clubs.

Note my mention of "Many Arsenal fans still support Wenger for a variety of reasons"?
Some of course will be JCL ArseneFC twats, but not all. Some will be die hard old school Gooners that don't believe it's right to question the manager, some will be people caught up in the sentiment thing, some are afraid of change, some honestly believe he is doing a good enough job. As I say, a variety of reasons. Personally I think they are all wrong, but to make a sweeping statement that everyone that still supports Wenger is not a true Gooner or doesn't have the club at heart is also wrong.
DB10 I never said that these people didnt love the club but I did say that they are showing a love of wenger that exceeds their love of the club imo. We have all seen a major, and I mean major, change in stance by most of the pro wenger camp in the last 12-18 months and for whatever reason they have accepted that wenger will not change and will not put this club back to where it should be - these people still hold a great affection for wenger, which is their right of course, but their change of stance is down to the cold reality that the man has had several seasons to correct our problems but he hasnt even shown anything to suggest that he recognises the problems much less fix them Is it possible that anybody really believes that wenger is the man to make this club great again ? I mean really believes and not just hopes that he can ? It is my contention that anybody who says that they still believe in wenger are doing so purely out of loyalty to a man that once did great things for this club cos there is nothing that is out there to justify their confidence in him and that is the reality despite what some may claim. People can dress it up anyway they want and get offended if they choose but until these people stand up and explain in practical terms how and why they believe that wenger will make us great again, then I will continue to state that they are, in my opinion, putting their loyalty to wenger above their loyalty and love for the club
I think that as an act of persuasion with AKB's now is to completely leave finances out of the argument. It is a point of contention that they will cling to despite any evidence which shows otherwise.
When you shrink the argument down to tactics and repeated mistakes both with both attacking and defending on the pitch (we all know the shortcomings), they will concur with you and Wenger has no place to hide within the context of this argument.
Watching Bayern the other night showed it all really, quality players that are playing with the knowledge of where they should be both when they are attacking and defending. If I were a betting man, I am willing to bet that Bayern go out and do not win the CL thus deflating the new argument that they were just so much better than us in terms of quality.
Arsenes pigheadedness and delusional belief in the project will ensure that he doesnt walk away and I suspect that with the boards unwavering faith in his moneymaking ability he will not be leaving anytime soon and there may be a new contract on the horizon.

Since that game the club have not had a penny from me & I've only been to one home game since but a friend paid
I will continue not give the club any cash until Kroenke is gone, whilst I want Wenger out & despise the AKB cult, the issue of Wenger longterm is not as important as getting rid of the asset stripping Yank.
Before someone calls me a plastic I have been going to The Arsenal since 1969 home & away & still go aways & Europe
