The thoughts of this issue have been made by many on here who have stated that, in general, they would like to make the occasion a celebratory event rather than a commemorative one...i tend to agree with this.

At my 30th birthday party I'm not planning on holding a minutes silence halfway through the disco for my granny. As you say, 11th May 1985. 24th Feb 2013 has no relation to this whatsoever and is in my opinions a BIG waste of £6000 for a one off occasion when the money could go to a cause rather than an over ambitious seamstress.
I'm sorry, but for me this flag is an embarrassment, a display of mawkish sentimentality which is tasteless and out of place. Other clubs might do this, just as some people feel the need to rush out with flowers and teddy bears to the scene of a death whenever the media might be around with their cameras, but we need to ask ourselves why. Who is this for? Those of us who were there, as I was, need no reminding. There is not a day goes by that I don't think of it, and I can't walk down Valley Parade without vivid memories of 1985, and the knowledge that I was lucky when others weren't. If it's for the burns unit, then give all the money to them. But I fear that, consciously or unconsciously, those doing this are just feeding the media with what they love best, and apart from any surplus they get going to the burns unit, doing no good to anyone. I am sorry if this offends anyone - that's not the intention. Whatever you are doing, enjoy the day!
Classy, understated & dignified. What a contrast to the gushing sentimentality of Hillsborough that gets bought up at every possible opportunity.

Best wishes to the bantems today - I like laudrup and the job he is doing at swansea but most nuetrals will be rooting for bradford today. I hope it is a good game and not a landside victory for either side though

Sad to see the match play out in this boring manner. Really not unexpected though, this sort of comfortable, disciplined performance is what you expect when the two teams are three divisions apart.

Swansea had a professional performance against a team of cloggers with a donkey upfront.

Not rocket science, play your best team. Be organised and show them the right amount of respect but remember you are a better team. And most importantly DO NOT HAVE FOREHEAD UPFRONT :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

swansea put in a proper shift today, each and everyone of them showed what it is to play their hearts out for their club,no complaceny at all even thought they were facing bradford,Hope our shower of over paid pussies were watching and taking note, more impoertantaly id have loved Gazidis/Kroenk to have watched and made a mental note about Laudrup, for me he is the of manager we need,he's young, respected, dignified, smooth and classy, everything that we should be about but sadly arent these days. :(

Seems that the FA really did try to charge £2,000 for the Bradford fans to have their flag http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/fa ... ty-1728033

Absolutely sickening and they can fuck off with their "specially trained" people who would carry the flag, 8 of them for fucking £2k, I wouldn't mind that job if that's the going rate for carrying a fucking flag like. I personally liked the flag, Bradford fans don't go on in the same manner that Liverpool fans do (although the Liverpool fans have been having to clear their name after a pretty shameful cover up) and I think the flag was a pretty good way of ensuring the fans who lost their lives were, in some small way, with them on the trip to Wembley.

The match itself was a disappointment like. TBH it was crazy to go with 2 in central midfield on a massive pitch against a Swansea side who can pass it around most PL clubs but still, they did brilliantly to get there and it was great watching their cup run, just a shame they couldn't get nearer to Swansea (and it would have been class to see them grab a goal). I don't mind Swansea though so I'm pleased to see them get their day, cracking set of fans who have always been very welcoming when we've visited (much different to Cardiff), canny club.

God forbid the activity of displaying a flag should be carried out in an unsafe manner! :? What is this country coming to?
