THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Re: Arsene Wenger - For him or against him?

Post by VoiceOfReason »

Classic hypocrisy from the media on BBC Radio 5 this lunchtime.

They had a Chelsea fan on, who was saying that the only reason Benitez wasn't sacked after his comments in the week is because there's nobody to replace him at the moment.

The presenter (Mark Pougatch) sarcastically responded with:

"What, so there's no alternative at the moment to be the next Chelsea manager, one of the best jobs in the world - surely?"

And yet whenever somebody dare suggests to the media that AW is replaced, it's always, "But who would you replace him with"?

One standard for one club, and one for another.

No one wants it.

At least with Inter, Barca and Real Madrid you inherit history, class and respect even if you do have only a year to prove yourself and win.

Chelsea ? Lmfao

How on earth did the tiny totts manage to replace old saggychops ??
They appear to be on the brink ( again, I know) of getting a top 4 place with a new manager, despite selling Modric and fannyfart in the summer, wow, and he hasn't got 30 years of management either, incredible !

Everyone in the Grumpy Household went to bed early last night so I thought I would cheer myself up by watching the 49 unbeaten DVD.
Fuck me I went to bed after feeling more depressed than ever.

Watching the pride, the passion, the movement, the skill, the commitment, the passing, the tackling, the wonder goals from the likes of TH, Bergkamp (god how I miss him),PV , Robbie and Freddie etc just made me think of what we have representing Arsenal Football Club right now.

And it really did make me feel sad. I am fucking sick of watchng this once proud respected club being turned into the Disney brand of the premire League.

I have had a gutsful.

The substitution that sums it all up today

Carl Jenkinson- working hard for the team and putting in some cracking crosses- substituted off so that we end up playing Ramsey at RB.

No words really need to be said

the sad thing is that Lord clueless will do fuck all this summer to rectify the situation,he will buy dross on top of more dross so that spuds gradually leave us in their wake, unlike Fergie who was so riled by being beaten to the title buy city that he went out and bought the best that money can buy,and hey ho its worked,Im done with this shit, wenger can do what he pleases with us,i hope he gets what he deserves :banghead:

Persisting with Le Sandwedgefoot up front when he has the scorer of 50 odd international goals on the bench comes a close second

Embarrassing to hear Spurs fans singing "Arsene Wenger - we want you to stay". Really says it all.

Don't see that would have made any difference what so ever. We don't create anything. Problems are further back than Giroud.

I would suggest Jenkinson's fitness isn't up to scratch yet.

No they are not. We controlled the midfield for more than an hour of that game. Every time the ball went into Giroud's feet he lost it and any time he had a sight of goal he fluffed it. I said in the window that if we failed to add a central striker of genuine class then we would not finish top four and so it has proved. A Villa or Van Persie would have nailed his one on one in the first half and countless other times would have been on the end of the balls from out wide. The bloke is the main reason we won't finish top 4 and the main problem is him
