I may be the exception here but I don't want this to happen  . I genuinely believe that with the British core we have, if we get a new young, driven and tactically good manager we could be fighting for the title within a year or two max. That's where my frustration with the club comes from. We have the resources to be fighting for the title, we just don't use them well/efficiently enough. Having had to put up with the negatives of the self sustaining model, how sweet would it be if we did manage to win the title without the financial backing of a billionaire. I would love it if we did, because then we can quite legitimately tell chelski and citeh to piss off and say we had a bit of a bleak period but could still do it without petro dollars unlike them-the cheating wankers.

I dont give a shit how we win. I dont care if this consortium is made up of peodofiles, rapists, murderers. I want to fucking win something. I'm fed up of feeling angry at watching City and Chavski buy there way to glory and we just get humilliated in the press each week and for what?

IF true, I reckon Wiggy The Yank would be all over it like the cheap syrup on his head. It'd be Usmanov that wouldn't sell his shares. He wants to be part of the PL gravy train long term. :rubchin:

It'll be an interesting couple of months coming up.

**Edit - Didn't see the Mirror link before I posted. Ain't gonna happen.**

1. Don't believe the rumour

2. Even if the rumour is true then I don't believe kroenke will sell

3. Not sure I would want quatar ownership either - this might be a slightly contentious statement to make but I don't believe that these people would view themselves as long term owners either. Tbh, even though I still advocate that we need 2 or 3 big high profile signings, I would not support a philosophy that see's a whole new team coming in overnight. We have a financial wage bill that if managed correctly would allow us to compete for the top quality players even now so we don't need huge money invested for that. In an ideal world we would employ a new top quality manager (no wenger lame fcuking duck recommendations need apply) and he would have 3 or 4 top quality signings given to him to kick start his reign. In each season after that the manager would be expected to work under the same conditions almost all managers do......spend club profits plus any income generated from player sales and allied with some good old fashioned coaching would be expected to make us competitive again. I am not crying out for citeeh or psg type overnight spending nor am I seeking the club to spend money that they can't afford and generate themselves so dispense of the Leeds and Pompey type scaremongering stories

I guess that I am pro usmanov really although this is the first time I have admitted it to myself  I like the fact that he actually attends games, has two boxes at the souless bowl that he actually pays for despite owning 30% of the club. I like the fact that he buy and large has remained low profile. I do wondr though if he is a factor in this somehow - is it possible that he could be a partner in this buyout ? If so is it possible that a pre arranged buyout that would see him as sole owner down the line ? Alternatively is it possible that the syrup wearing c**t has been touting the club for potential sell out to anyone bar usmanov ?

Anyway at the end of the day I don't see this buyout happening

I agree with this. If we utilised the funds we have available properly, then we'd definitely be challenging anyway. As we've said many times before, we don't need to be buying £50m players left, right and centre, we just need to buy SOME expensive, quality players - which is definitely possible in our current financial climate. Chelsea wasted £50m on Torres, who has been outperformed by the £2m-valued Michu, which goes to show that blowing big bucks isn't the answer.

On a personal note, I'd find it ridiculous to have scrimped and saved all these years to pay off the stadium, only to call for the sugar-daddy just as the debts are cleared. It'd mean that the last near-decade was so totally not worth it.

Honestly thought this was another joke topic, I am genuinely stunned at this.

Need some time to mull it over.

I like many others will disagree, we will never compete with utd, chelsea, city, madrid, barca on our own. I know in hindsight you can pick and choose your cheaper players, but if you telling me you as a football coach would pick the basis of your proposed title winning team on a 2m journey man attacking midfielder from spain instead of the reputable falcao I would say you were not being honest.

Teams don't always get their transfers correct. You have to brave and spend the money, take a risk. Sir Alex is a prime example, you can list the large sums of money he has wasted but how was he to know how things would turn out until he implemented the players in his team.

As for our british core? theo, ox, ramsey and jenkinson? can't say thats a group of players to build title winning teams on.

In the perfect world we'd be bought out by a billionaire gooner who is happy to blow his money on some guys so they can fill their lives overpriced rubbish. But the fact is arsenal is a very valuable commodity and stan is in a fix because he hasn't got the cash to push the value even higher, this is as good as it gets for him, and he can drop this 'football fan' chirade. Some wealthy arabs want in on this sexy football action, the lions and cheetahs that roam the gardens are becoming boring and nothing is more trendy than a running european football club.

If we were to be bought out, we like utd would not be any real danger from financial restrictions, our revenue should take care of that.

In the long term, there are risks, when its time to move on they'll to the highest bidder or we'll end up like many other clubs such as malaga. But once stan bought us this could always happen.

Its not the QIA, but Kingdom Holdings from Saudi.

They are paying Kroenke twice the price of his shares.

Other individual shareholders will remain otherwise they'd have to make an offer for the entire company including the AST's shares which they do not wish to do as KHC wish to maintain good relations with the fans.
