Another big game, another loss, and as usual to me at least it comes as no surprise.

I think some perspective is required, for such a poor Arsenal side the second half was encouraging. Sadly Spurs are just better than Arsenal these days.

Take solace form the fact it has taken years of neglect and stirpping of the club;s asests for Spurs to be on an even playing field as Arsenal, and now regretably better team than Arsenal.

Not sure we had a shot on goal in the 2nd half did we? Wenger you are and Arsenal are going backwards!

Vertonghen - The very definition of the player we should have bought and been playing week in week out this season was like a rock today.

GK - Distribution shocking; Think the defence were more to blame for the goals than the keeper to be honest
Defence - Just poor. We snuffed the option of Bale shooting from distance, but then weren't able to change our game up to match Spurs change in tactics.
Midfield - Out muscled all game, until Rosicky came on we looked slow, bereft of ideas of how to break down a well organised defence
Attack - Giroud probably to blame for a lot of the midfield woes. He should be the No.2/3 striker at Arsenal until he settles down. Being asked to do too much, and not good enough to do even a little of it.

Spurs

This wasn't just about Arsenal being shit unfortunately. You look at Dembele, Parker, Sandro & Vertonghen - In my mind that's 4 physically strong defensively minded midfielders...we have none. That's ridiculous.

Tactics, happy to sit back with effectively 7 defenders, wait for us to give the ball away like idiots then hit us with the pace we used to play with 8 years or so ago. We simply had no answer to very basic tactics

Lloris would have been an ideal signing this year as well. Not that I don't think Sczez is that bad, but we should be able to have 2 decent keepers in our squad - pretty much every other decent side has this.

I thought Jack was very poor today.

Finishing out of the top 4 will be a blessing.

On another note, that's Chelsea & Spurs fans singing we want you to stay to Wenger... Says it all really :(
Thought Ramsey was our best player today we battled hard but other that we were shit

How much more?

Post by jrthgooner »

I just can't take much more of this shit!!! Wenger clearly has no idea and this said based on the bare facts of the game.

Bossed it for all of 3mins and we conceded 2 due to shit defending
Despite having all of the ball how many shots did we have?
He subbed our right back (who was causing problems) and put Ramsey (who played well) at right back despite him having a yellow card
Giroud was dire and played the whole game, how?
Played against a team of players we should have (I refer to Parker, Bale, Vertonghen and Defoe) bought but instead we got Mertersacker, Gervinho, Diaby, Giroud and Santos

Biggest thing of all how can we continue to defend so badly and it never be addressed? Does not matter if it is from set pieces or open play we are a shambles.

I realise this is written very soon after the game but I have to let it out!!

FUcking pitiful and spineless. Spurs didn't play any football all game and are shit at the back, but we let them be comfortable for 35 minutes at 2-1. Yes Vertonghen was good but again it's the media handing out badges for outstanding defending when in reality we aren't capable of creating anything. Centre-halves must dream of playing against a lone striker who is playing two leagues above his level, most comfortable afternoon they'll enjoy all year.

Wenger's tactical genius meant Wilshere was left to play the last 15 minutes at centre-half whilst Mertesacker took his uselessness higher up the pitch. I'd love to hear anybody harp on about the great football we play after watching us for 20 minutes lump aimless balls forward - not once did we even come near creating a chance from it.

Yes Clattenburg was a prick and unsurprisingly let their (English) players get away with murder as well as playing 15-second advantages for them and ignoring when one of them made a late tackle on Cazorla right under his nose and let them go and on score. But don't let that be an excuse for anybody as to why we lost the game.

Fed up with so many of our players. Too many of them are "good on paper".
