Sid we all know he wouldnt sign for us and we also know the club wouldnt pay the cash to get him but the question was would you want him?

I think its a valid question even though it wont happen (a bit like me fucking Kelly Brook

) as Rooney is a top class player but we have a history with him, so would you disregard the history or not, i think that's the question

I think that this is a no brainer really. I'd have him. As we are probably stuck with Wenger and this crap formation, at least we would have a playmaker and mobile striker at the club which would consign Giroud to the bench.

There is a lot of speculation about him going this summer because he wasn't played, but I am not sure if they would sell him to be honest. If they did sell him, it will be abroad.

aint never gonna happen,firstly fergie is not like wenger where you sell your best players to your enemies,rooney would probably end up abroad,psg maybe??? and secondly he's not a Wenger type player,for a start hes good with proven pedigree,pretty much rules us out of buying him,we only sign proven shit

Obviously it will never happen, but I'll play the game....

If Rooney was genuinely available and bizarrely wanted to join us (which of course he wouldn't) then it would be ridiculous not to snap him up.

He's a very talented, direct player who can score goals, make assists and is willing to put in an honest hard shift for 90 mins, in each and every game.

We have far too many passive players who are more than happy to blend into the background and pass the buck. Players like Wilshere and Rooney would NEVER dream of doing that, and would help drive this club forward with their hunger and desire to succeed.

I'd take him in a heartbeat.

I voted no. He doesn't score enough goals for me, we need a 25-30 goal a season striker and Shrek ain't it.

Nope.

A wonderful striker of the ball, but I see his career spiralling downwards very quickly - I see drink driving, wife with sunglassses on and more hookers charging an ugly tax in his future.

I don't think fergie would worry about offloading him to the chavs or Newcastle as long as he gets a decent price for him.

Sadly rooneys future is in a bottle.
