As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
@IHH if people posted stuff in the right places, you mods would have f all to do all day...im keeping you in a job here, some gratitude wouldnt go amiss!
Fair play. Without the likes of you I wouldn't be earning the enormous fees I do for moderating this place and thus wouldn't have been able to afford the Mansion and fast cars!! So cheers pal.

MK Gould wrote: They were pretty shocking last night. They certainly don't look like the Man U of the conference league on this seasons form. Think the conference is a difficult enough division to get out of.
It is easy to get out of you really want to - well, I mean it is easier to go down again. Fuck me, I really think Lincoln are going to go again.
Was listening to hawksbee and Jacobs yesterday and there had Graham poll and Poll had the audacity to back the ref .Poll got it right in my opinion in saying that if the challenge was reversed all the pundits etc would say it was a red card and if a yellow was all it got there be up in arms and demand the ref's head but as it was against a British club (especially manure)it was never a sending off.
Poll also pointed out that the British media conveniently missed the hand ball on the line by Rafael (which i also saw) and the non existent foul which disallowed RM goal in the 1st half.To me it was a definite red but you know the media.

On Van P€r$i€ remember when he was sent off at the Nou Camp when Arsenal were leading the tie two years ago...we didn't get the media sympathy then, in fact they Sky studio sneered at the thing and suggested that it didn't affect the result as we were run ragged by them. Well we were ahead, they got two goals against 10 men and Super Nick missed a chance at the end that Van P€r$i€ would have scored to put us through. I hope UEFA are consistent and ban Ferdinand for his antics after the game similar to their ban on Nasri in 2011.
Not one pundit has highlighted the fact that Rafael got away with a handball on the line, penalty and red card that didn't happen. There is a bleating hysteria coming out of Salford that the Victims would be proud of.
"one team in Europe..there is only one team in Europe " for a week anyway.
not happening, Rio not facing any action...kick in the teeth for their own respect campaign.
Gazprom et al sponsor UEFA on the basis their ads go behind the managers postmatch interviews
that money then goes to the clubs - and pays Fergie's wages
clockender1 wrote:As much as I laughed, I think its utter ***** that UEFA can fine a manager for not doing a post match media interview.
Interviews are not part of the game and UEFA shouldn't have any jurisdiction off the pitch.
if I was fergie I'd say fuck em and not pay it. I'm pretty sure he didn't sign a contract committing to it.
Disagree, with the amount of money generated from the competition the least the manager can do is fulfil what is expected of him. For all of wenger's faults he always speaks to the press no matter how annoyed or humiliating it can be for him. Sir Alex is still a football manager and why should he be exempt just because his team lost.
It was a red card, had nani did that to jack we would've been baying for blood.
I only wathced the last half hour or so but form what I saw it was a queation of time before Madrid scored, and from then on only 1 winner.
Something that I did notice was just how hardworking Madrid were as a team, superstars included, all closed down, tackled, supported teammmates etc.

How come we do not bother
Mourinho's teams all are chock full of confident and disciplined players. He has committed to the "team" dynamic by singling out or isolating even the biggest superstars who refuse to play their part or that lack fitness/desire. That in turn creates an incredibly positive atmosphere in the camp that lends itself to great performance on the pitch.
I am strongly of the opinion that Wenger's apologetic nature on his players behalf has contributed to a rapid increase in complacency in the club - which starts from the top, when it comes to being apologetic about the manager himself.

its not consistent with our focus on our super quality, mentality and self belief.
nor is discipline, organisation or working as a team.
