What unusual foods have you eaten?

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

How in the name of God do you guys live without eating pork? :|

No bacon, no bar-b-qued ribs, no loin chops, no pork sausages, no belly, no pulled pork burrito, no big dirty old roast pork... I'm actually salivating as I write this...

Honestly, the smell of bacon frying makes me feel rough.
Pork looks odd to me, wrong colour for meat, gammon looks grim, ham looks no big deal, can have a chicken and turkey sandwich with all the trimmings.

Quite happy with chicken, turkey, beef, lamb, duck etc.

DB10.

Whenever I visit friends/family in Israel, I have to laugh that some adhere so strictly to having plates and sinks for meat and another for dairy. Some of the same people visit me and share a bacon sarnie for brekkie. :?

I also had a hatred for a French Algerian in another home who would avail himself to whatever I cooked, even after warning him not to. So I ended up starting off the bolognese with some pancetta and de-glazed the pan with red wine.
I fucking loved watching the *word censored* polishing off my dinners.

Most are not like that though, especially with Israelis.
You either keep to the dietary laws or you don't, very little grey areas, though DB10 there are some variations depending on local custom relatingto if it is OK to eat meat with fish or eating rice over Passover.

I agree that most are not like that Quartz.
In fact, I have family friends where the mother and one child are fairly strict and the rest of the same family only pay lip service to the dietry laws.

Yes, you're right there was a 'I bet you wouldn't type mentality in the group of people I used to hang with...HOWEVER!...There's NOWAY I would swallow salami - NO WAY!....Though that reminds me of a HUGE Piss Up we all (about 30 of us) went on...it was Murphy's Birthday...His name was Chris but for fuck knows what reason - everyone called him 'Murph' or 'Murphy'...it was his 21st - back when becoming 21yrs of age - Gave you the key to the door....instead of it being on a piece of string inside the letterbox I suppose! :rubchin: - Anyway I digress.

Murph got TotallyShyteFaced - as did every other fecker...But someone had the idea that while he was unconscious - someone should put a cock in his gob and take a picture - this is long before PC's/Mobile phones etc etc...anyway they - 3 blokes from the group - went ahead and did it...

Most of us had totally forgotten about it, til a week or so later we all meet at the loacl on the Saturday night...and copies of this photo are circulated...

Murph - who was a quiet easy going type - laughed his head off...But over the next three weeks - No one can prove it was Murphy BUT we all 'knew'...he carried out the following pranks - all aimed at those 3 individuals 'Pride & Joys'....

for the 1st one....filled his car with sewage - the kind of rank - make you wanna puke smelly stuff....only a half-inch gap in the drivers window but it STANK

To the 2nd - his pride & joy (Suzuki GS850cc) 4 month old motorbike - had been chainsawed into three

and the 3rd - he superglued every single (Vinyl) album, single and cassette of which there were hundreds AND the whole stereo (including his Goldring Turntable) into one amalagous lump

No one EVER fucked with Murphy again.

I am sooo glad I didn't get involved with THAT particular jape!

Had camel meat in Dubai once. Thought it was beef! Nearly vomited. It doesn't actually taste bad but feels wrong.
