He looked good throughout the game. Seems to me that he and Bellarin are closest to the senior team; a loan move would do them a world of good. Angha was impressive too.

Lots of technically good players in our team. The stand outs I would say were Gnabry,Bellerin and Angha.Akpom and Eisfeld were also pretty decent upfront.

Gnabry is a really good player but he needs to watch getting caught on the ball trying to be too clever, sam probably goes for Angha but all in all glad I went, even if it was brass monkeys out there.

Crowd was decent even if we could do without the f**king ole's when there's still ony one goal in it.

Don't know how we'll fair against the chavs but they had a pretty good result against Juve hammering them 4-1.

Let's hope we get past them and to a final. :barscarf: :barscarf:
I'm sorry, could someone explain what that word in red means please? Is it like winning the 4th place trophy or something? :?

nah, thats how people like Djourou end up staying with us for 10 years.

i'd rather see a return to the old days and have them work hard in the reserves until the manager takes a risk and throws them on.

i'd much rather see gnabry or Bellarin come on in the 70th minute of a tight game than Arshavin or Ramsay.

if they are good enough, they're old enough as someone said.

If Gnabry and Bellerin are getting plaudits its time to move em up not ship em out.

cool bananas to see the club offering tickets at such low prices though.

Young Guns go for it ! lol.

They've got potential, but I wouldn't toss them in the deep end this early.

Developing academy players is an inexact science; on the one hand you have the likes of Bentley, JET and Bartley who didn't make the grade after a loan spell away, and on the other you have Wilshere. Nonetheless I think the best way to develop these players is to have them play regular minutes.

I'd agree with you that I'd like to see more of them if they're not out on loan, especially Eisfeld. That kid is something.

why not ? - it worked for Ca$hley and Fabregas. Not to mention Tony Adams...

imho the loan system doesn't work. if these kids have the mentality, first touch and work ethic at 17 then they've got it, otherwise we're just subsidizing the smaller clubs and pandering to mediocre talent

its not like we have a shortage of Youth players - how many do we have on our books at any one time ? - 30-40 ?

and how many have succeeded in the last 10 years - 3 ? - ashley, gibbs and Jack.

ball park that's a 1% success rate at most. thats a FAIL.

Arsenal are not the only ones, but i wish we'd grow a pair and not be afraid of missing "the ONE" and bin the massive cost of it all.

we'd be better off letting smaller clubs pick up players and buying them when they are proven or semi-proven like Ox and Jenko.

Went to this, decent crowd considering the arctic conditions. Russians weren't all that great but then maybe it was us making them look poor. For me the standouts were Olsson and Yennaris in the middle while Eisfeld and Gnabry provided the cutting edge. Would like to have seen more from Akpom, from that showing he just looked like a kid who's got by in youth football by being bigger then everyone else. Only 1 game of course, maybe I'm missing something.

Good night all round though :barscarf:
