Re: Over Rated "Legends" Who's yours?
Its funny some are blaming Seaman for the Giggs goal forgetting the inch perfect ball Vieira played to him the piss poor defending by Dixon and Keown. And that the goal wouldnt have been scored if Bergkamp hadnt missed the penalty. But blame Seaman anyway

A keeper Seamans size should never be beaten at his near post. he was on his way down when giggs hoofed it.donaldo wrote:Its funny some are blaming Seaman for the Giggs goal forgetting the inch perfect ball Vieira played to him the piss poor defending by Dixon and Keown. And that the goal wouldnt have been scored if Bergkamp hadnt missed the penalty. But blame Seaman anyway
I agree Dicko just backed off and backed off, but that was a small mistake from a player who'd been running around for 119 minutes whilst fat dave had his feet up with a pint of theakstons and the sporting post. Dicko never showed him in inside, giggs just hit it past him on the outside. no way should he have scored from there.
I swear that goal haunts me, i think we would have won a back to back double that year if we'd have done the mancs.
wanker.

Blame DB10 for missing the penalty. He's still a proper legend thoughclockender1 wrote:A keeper Seamans size should never be beaten at his near post. he was on his way down when giggs hoofed it.donaldo wrote:Its funny some are blaming Seaman for the Giggs goal forgetting the inch perfect ball Vieira played to him the piss poor defending by Dixon and Keown. And that the goal wouldnt have been scored if Bergkamp hadnt missed the penalty. But blame Seaman anyway

I don't think anybody was suggesting that Seaman was 100% responsible for the goal, merely that he could've done more.donaldo wrote:Its funny some are blaming Seaman for the Giggs goal forgetting the inch perfect ball Vieira played to him the piss poor defending by Dixon and Keown. And that the goal wouldnt have been scored if Bergkamp hadnt missed the penalty. But blame Seaman anyway

Why are ManUre staff and fans allowed to do pitch invasions
yet everyone else gets punished for that sort of thing...?

I wasn't blaming him (solely) for the goal, and as you point out others were also at fault, but Seaman should have saved it, he was almost on his knees before giggs struck the ball.donaldo wrote:Its funny some are blaming Seaman for the Giggs goal forgetting the inch perfect ball Vieira played to him the piss poor defending by Dixon and Keown. And that the goal wouldnt have been scored if Bergkamp hadnt missed the penalty. But blame Seaman anyway

Re: Over Rated "Legends" Who's yours?
I was only worried about a Becks free kickWas just saying don't foul him don't foul him...
ManUre cheated, they knew we were the better side as Fergie knew befor kick off
They killed every single counter attack with fouls, they rotated the fouler
Keane went for around his 5th yellow card offence
When Phil Neville hacks down Parlour for the pen its obviously a second yellow
ref bottles it, the fear of Fergie is too much, he knows the story will be two players sent off

Sunderland was one of my favourite players of all time....and not just for '79!littlefire wrote:Alan Sunderland?
He just had an uncanny knack of coming up with a goal after seemingly doing nothing else for 80 mins. He also had a great partnership with Stapleton...
His scoring record of about 1 in every 4 games doesn't look great now, but that wasn't exactly a free scoring Arsenal side and I'd wager that most of his goals won us the game.
