To be fair to Kanu, he was never an established regular starter and was often playing second fiddle to the great DB10 for the majority of the time he was in the squad, so didn't get to play as often as a player of his enormous ability would have elsewhere. Kanu was one of my favourite players and I remember often saying to friends that he would do something extraordinary in a match that was worth the attendance fee all by itself!!SteveO 35 wrote:Amazing that Kanu made it that high on the list. To be honest his talent should have earned him a top 10 place but his actual achievement makes him lucky to be top 50. In the 98/99 season he produced some amazing stuff. I was there at Boro when he scored that cheeky flick and some of the other stuff he produced like at the Lane and against La Coruna was out of the top drawer.....but he became a rank lazy bastard at times and was absolutely infuriating by the time he left us where every single touch of the ball had to be off the outside of the boot or backheeled. Not dissimilar to the fat Russian in that regarddonaldo wrote:Kanu underated? By the way Davis and Bould didnt make the top 50 so they are underated

I agree though that ultimately he didn't produce/achieve as much with us as perhaps a player with his natural talent should have. Although I think there were extenuating reasons for that.
