As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Always missed
That league cup semi at the Shitole will always be one of my fondest memories
Agree with all that.
I also remember a few days after that Tottenham we had a midweek game at Highbury. At half time, a montage of Rocky's best moments was played on the two screens. The Arsenal players had come out for the 2nd half a few minutes earlier than the opposition and were able to watch it. I remember Lee Dixon standing in front of the screen at the clock end. When the video finished it was followed by one of the most moving rounds of applause I've ever heard, from both players and fans. I wont ever forget that. I probably felt more emotional then as on the Saturday it was more a feeling of shock and disbelief.
And that WHL 1987 match is up there for me with any other match in our history. Seems like yesterday in some ways and yet in other ways it could be a thousand years ago as so much has changed since.
The game in question was at home to Valencia in the CL. We were 1 down at half time and the atmosphere was flat until they showed his career highlights on the screens at half time. The crowd were rocking and we won 2-1 with I think a screamer from romford pele. I really hope the applause starts on Saturday in the 7th minute as it would be a fitting tribute for a true legend. If Tarquin and Jemima don't like it they can go and fuck themselves with a blunt instrument.
A true football legend. Respected by all the clubs he played for. Listening to Wrighty on the radio that fateful day was heart wrenching. Rocky scored some awesome goals. My favourite has to be the one at old Trafford where he outmuscled Bryan "man of the match" Robson and Paul Ince then chipped the ball from twenty five yards over schmichael. If only...
What I loved about David Rocastle, aside from him being a great player, was the fact that he always looked as if playing for The Arsenal was the ultimate honour. Even when his form dipped, he always looked as though he would battle to the finish.
Watched the game at the pins and they didn't really focus too much on it during the commentary but it was well observed in a packed pub on the 7th minute.
His words should be above the tunnel as the player's come out, a permanent reminder for all players that grace our club of just who the man was and just what club they have joined.
A quality player and a man that the fans could be proud to support, a class above most of the current generation of premier league players and a very tragic loss. Nice to hear the Arsenal fans remembering him.
