As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

One of his best moments in an Arsenal shirt..........I'll fondly remember it for the rest of my life.
His mindset and his ankle has never been the same since this incident. Was it the same ankle smashed at sunderland later that season?
its the same ankle but the john terry incident was 9 months after the dan smith 1
So are you saying that rather than Dan Smith's poor tackle, it's in fact John Terry's jaw that's to blame for the Imperious One's continued injury woe?

Diaby was running things till then
Yeah, how selfish of him to disrupt poor Abou's fragile confidence by daring to stick his head on Diaby's boot!! Indeed, when you think about it, it wouldn't at all surprise me if it was done deliberately in another tactical masterclass by Mourinho!!
Nine calf muscle strains in his right leg in three years......you'd think the medical team would either get him working on strengthening an obvious weak area or chop the fucker off!!
WTF goes on at Arsenal with the medical team? It's like Carry on Doctor in there but without Barbara Windsors breasts!!
I guess Wenger had taken on board that Diaby was finished years ago but wants the player to receive big money out of loyalty to the player.
Loyalty does not pay the bills.

Bergkamp and Pires only worthy of 1 year extentions but good old Abou !!!
I am no expert, and have never had access to Diaby's medical records, but I would wager that many of those injuries are at least in part a result of the original tackle, in that compensation injuries are almost inevitable after both a major injury and a long time out from competitive football; posture inbalances provoke further injuries.
I had such an occurrence after a shoulder injury; the opposite shoulder and pectoral had taken up much of the load bearing the injured shoulder would have done, and once my original injury was healed, I had to have treatment on the other side of the body to correct my post-injury posture which caused me intense pain for up to two months as my body re-adjusted.
The injuries may or may not also be a result of the program of training Diaby undertook of his own accord in the summer of 2007, 2008, 2009 or 2010 (cannot remember which year, I have failed to find out from an internet search) when he trained with a French athlete in an attempt to be fitter and stronger for the next season.
Perhaps he did the wrong exercises or the right exercises but too intense a program and put strain on certain joints?
Wenger has said that Diaby has a medical condition leading to weak muscle fibres, possibly a kidney deficiency linked to malfunction in metabolising proteins?
