Re: Abou Diaby - injuries
I've done my right knee in (medial collateral) getting some pretty random other pains: neck, lower back, other leg, left bicep...

It doesnt matter what the reasons for his injuries are, if he can't stay fit get rid. We are run as a business in every other department of the club why should this be any different?

Re: Abou Diaby - injuries
This is what it boils down to. Things have dragged on so long that it just doesn't matter whether some thug from Sunderland ruined him or whether his ankle injury happened during a coke-induced binge the night before a game whilst fellating Tim Sherwood.flash gunner wrote:It doesnt matter what the reasons for his injuries are, if he can't stay fit get rid. The club are more than happy to extort fans financially but won't wean a player off the generous teet that is our wage structure when it's been obvious for ages that he's a waste of time and money. Ffs Wenger basically admitted that he was never going to stay fit at all because his muscle fibres are fucked or something months and months ago.

Re: Abou Diaby - injuries
This is the key point.
Abou has flattered to deceive in the rare appearances he's made (sometimes he's just looked shit) but I don't hate him.
The object of my ire is the club that chooses to give a big-money contract to somebody whose body (and head?) clearly isn't up to it.
I wish him well, but I'd just wish he'd go and enable us to give a squad number to someone who might actually play.

Absolute waste of fucking space (and a wage!). Fuck him, get rid of him quick. Yeah yeah yeah he's had flashes of brilliance but who fucking hasn't? Aliadi-useless had flashes of brilliance. My mate Fat Joe has flashes of brilliance on the astro on a Tuesday evening ffs!
Diaby has contributed NOTHING to Arsenal and if the rumour of him having earned over £20 million in his time with us is true then that is fucking disgraceful by the manager and the club. Christ if we have pissed even HALF that on him it's a crime. I don't hate him, and have some sympathy for how frustrated he must be with injuries, but he has contributed nothing to our club. Get rid.

Yeah and I told him "don't pose with that fucking cigar and that Gay As Christmas moustache!"

Do ya think he'd listen? Hell no. And now all the gangsta homies on our block call him "GayStache".

Re: Abou Diaby - injuries
Diabys contract extension in 2010 was following two reasonably healthy seasons with the club, though. I can see WHY he was offered it at that stage because the club clearly thought he was over the worst of his injuries.
I admire the chances Wenger gives to players sometimes - but this guy has really missed his one.

I have to agree. As much as I had wanted it to work out for Abou, it hasn't and it won't. This farce is indicative of everything that is wrong at Arsenal nowadays.
A new broom is needed to rid us of the dross, starting with Wenger.

On a pay as you play basis maybe, let's be honest if he had been on that for the last 5 years he would be living under the hammersmith flyoverSteveO 35 wrote:Anyone else prepared to take a final chance on our twinkle-toed genius........I can't bear the thought of no Abou, the modern day Invincible

Re: Abou Diaby - injuries
if our main problem was injuries, it would be easily arguable that it's not the manager, board or owners faultTop Londoner wrote:This farce is indicative of everything that is wrong at Arsenal nowadays.
I think you're wrong - there have been contract management errors
maybe even more errors than our rivals (personally wouldn't think there's a huge difference in unavailability wage wasteage)
but it's far from our main problem
I'm much more concerned about tactics, ambition, planning and scouting quality
than I am about paying wages to injured players - which is a risk all clubs take

Re: Abou Diaby - injuries
I just can't believe the amount of players we have or had on long contracts that are extremely fragile, injury prone or plain unlucky.
You can add Jack to the diaby and rosicky list, other players that were damned unlucky but nonetheless missed more than a season and will probably never be the same player again, eddy and ramsey.
Van Skunk only played one full season out of the 7 he was with us the rest of the time he spent on the treatment table.
Gibbs is fragile and missed chunks of seasons, Sagna too over the last 3 seasons has missed most of that.
Flappyhandski has had his share of injuries too and now injured again.
If you look at our players on loan they've had their fair share too.
Fuck me sideways.....when you look at our list of perenially injured players DB10 looks positively indestructable
