Financial rules coming in

Post by TeeCee »

Well, totally underwhelmed!! It's a view of just how ineffective the FFP rules will be.

At first I thought YES! a sensible rule......no more than a £4m increase allowed in wages once you pay more than £52m a year in total...............................

then it says wages may additionally be supplemented by gate money, a couple of other things and most importantly.....Commercial dealings. What a waste of time!

So Sheik Mansour announces he is sponsoring Joe Hart's big toe on his right foot for £10m a year and in return Joe has some advert on his boot......job done, City have another 10 million to spend on wages. It's a farce.

And it was always going to be a farce - two of the worlds biggest clubs (barca and madrid) were/are up to their tonsils in debt but if anybody really believes that they will be suspended from champions league football then they are clearly delusional  Salary caps work in the nfl and nba cos all the teams and players play in those leagues and have no viable options but football players can leave the premier league and play in spain (for example) if their tax laws and ffp rules are "more relaxed" and that is the bottom line and why it can never properly work.

Can I just say yet again that I am glad that FFP will be a farce and I hope it sends a strong message to that syrup wearing c.unt from america that he will have to spend money or get the fcuk out of here   :cussing: :cussing:

But, Arsene & Ivan say that we'll be top dogs in England & Europe once these rules come into play. Surely they wouldn't lie to us....?

it was always going to be a load of old cobblers, the funniest thing is that Our sacred leader has pinned his hopes on this for years, what a knobhead!!! even if if did work the likes of city, utd, chavski have squads in place to last the next 4-5 years without a massive overhaul so it would take 5 years or so at least before we could put in a challenge for a title again, that takes us to 2018 and 13 years without a trophy, but Lord Wenker knows best :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Bigger knobheads are the fans who've used this in defence of AW all these years, when it seemed like a total crock of shit from the very start.

What makes it even more sickening is that the fools running our club from board to dugout have known this would be a load of old bollocks all along but still used it as an excuse for their mismanagement and negligence. I fail to see how they could actually think this would be enforceable and if they really did believe in it, they should all be sacked for gross dereliction of duty.

Well we will find out in the summer. I think a lot of people are pessimistic about the rules but I am fairly hopeful. What many people forget is UEFA has the power to reject any club from Europe for any reason. Finishing in the top 4 does NOT give you the right to be in the champions league. It only gives your the right to apply to be in the CL. In other words City and Chelski can find all the loopholes they want but if UEFA really wants to, but it wont necessarily let them off the hook.

Some of the claims that Chelski et al have been making on there financial statements are ridiculous and will no doubt make UEFA angry. The clubs are taking a pretty big gamble. They've already kicked out Malaga.

We're talking about an organisation who refuses to punish FAs whose fans repeatedly engage in vile racist behaviour because they're scared about upsetting anybody.

Do you really think they'll try and take on Citeh or Chelsea? Imagine it - it would be on the front pages every day for months while the club criticised UEFA individuals and processes, pointed out other clubs' flaws and engaged them in protracted legal battles right through to the CAS that would go on far beyond (the start of) that season's CL.

They've already said they're not going to investigate Citeh's ridiculous sponsorship deal which would be difficult to justify for any club, but for one without an established global brand is absolutely absurd.

They've written enough scope into the rules to allow them to bury their heads in the sand while the clubs exploit 'loopholes' that are intentionally left there.

All this before actually analysing the rules and seeing that in fact interest repayments (which can total in the tens of millions at United etc) are not included along with quite a few other types of expenditure, so in fact this notion of a 'break-even' rule is severely diluted.

UEFA still has sponsors to answer to, and I'm pretty sure that Ford, Heineken, MasterCard and the other CL sponsors would be mightily pissed off if Everton and Tottenham were thrown into the CL at the expense of Chelsea and Man City.

Sperz have got way more fans than ManShitty
and more fans in London than Chelski
Toffees got a surprisingly large amount of fans in SouthEast Asia

So you think UEFA would rather have Everton in the CL, a team who's never been in the competition, over last season's winners?

UEFA just care about money and profile
if Dortmund win it this year they'll still prefer RealMadrid, Barca and Bayern
Abramothief has changed their profile abroad but they still struggle to sell out games
Sperz don't.

UEFA's main revenue doesn't come from ticket sales, it comes from sponsorships. Ticket sales are a drop in the ocean to them.

Salary caps and financial restrictions are essentially restraints of trade and thus illegal under EU law ,the FFP alsdo has enough loopholes to drive a bus through them ,they are doomed to failure,or will be applied selectively .
Platini will try and fcuk the English clubs with it as after all that's why they were brought in but I doubt if he will succeed .

They might be in massive debts (especially Barca) if you just look at the numbers but you always have to compare the numbers to the income and capital. In fact both Barcelona and Madrid are financially sound.

BTW those rules TeeCee wrote about - they are not UEFAs FFP but from the english FA on their own right? Or did I get something wrong about the whole stuff?
