Re: Everton at home
In all likelihood if Suarez was an Arsenal player he would have been sold by now. Although the media have tried to stir up a transfer saga around Suarez on a few occasions clubs know that Liverpool will point blank refuse to sell and are unlikely to be bullied into selling unless somebody offers an exorbitant amount and Suarez is desperate to go (i.e. Torres situation). Even ignoring the fact they paid over £20m for him (I think), the club knows it would be a terrible decision to sell him for £30m because it would signal a devastating lack of ambition and a bleak future, and the chances are the money would be reinvested in 2 or 3 average players.
Whereas with us whenever a player excels there is a frenzy amongst media and suitors because they that we will happily sell up for a reasonable price, particularly if they can ensure that the story is splashed over the papers every day. We didn't really have much choice in the end but we let ourselves get into a position where we had to sell van Judas, whilst reinvesting the proceeds in a far inferior striker with no experience on the top stage and a striker of proven quality who is inexplicably banished to the wing and then the bench.
I'm not saying by any means Liverpool are well-run and tbh they are far more hopeless than us. But it speaks volumes that they can easily keep hold of a player that is miles too good for them and would walk straight into all but one or two teams in world football.

In 99/00 we were in the CL and got to the UEFA cup final so we played much more than 43 games

I'd bet any money Suarez orchestrates a move this summer.northbank123 wrote:In all likelihood if Suarez was an Arsenal player he would have been sold by now. Re: Everton at home
I think he'll certainly try to. A player of his quality (yes yes yes we all know he is a racist, cheating diving shitheel but he IS a top quality footballer) will want to be in the CL. Can’t see the Mousers offering him CL football for a few years to come tbh. Whether they’ll let him go though is the question.goonersid wrote:I'd bet any money Suarez orchestrates a move this summer.northbank123 wrote:In all likelihood if Suarez was an Arsenal player he would have been sold by now. You'd think Suarez would want to go (despite all Liverpool fans thinking any player to every play for the club has YNWA running through their blood like a stick of Blackpool rock - remember the things they used to say about Torres being a huge fan when he was at Atletico?
). Also wonder whether Bale will try and push through a move as there's an obvious glass ceiling at Spurs even if they do sneak into CL, although he's quite young and they're happy to build the team around him.
They paid £22m for Suarez and given that he's been a great success there I think they would demand over £30m (whether or not anybody would want to pay that I don't know).

Suarez to Bayern or even Napoli, and Bale to Madrid? Modric has hardly set the world alight this year, so maybe a part ex?

Wenger admits to rushing Wilshere back against Norwich (telling us all what we had already figured really). Hope he doesn't play him tonight, especially if Rosicky is fit.

Sounds about right. Cazorla the first with a chip. The second will see Walcott fry the full back before tucking it in the corner. The scoring will be completed by....Codolskiflash gunner wrote:We will batter them 3-0 should be 5

On a scale of 1 to 10 that’s a 1. Fortunately I’m here to save the day.

Well I suppose a few of us have gotten a bit cocky now that we've been.... wait for it... clambering up the league table. Re: Everton at home
A win is imperative here, given our poor recent record at Fulham.
