Everton at home
Re: Everton at home
Pedestrian football that half,
Wilshere is miles off the pace, Chapman once again demonstrates his innate ability to miss sitters and look rueful
Ramsey has been our best player (not that there have been many to pick from)
Oh, and Sagna still can't cross a ball to save his life, throw Jenko on if we want to get any crosses to Chapman up top.

Re: Everton at home
You will often see a game at the grove when there is no atmosphere cos we are getting spanked but that isn't the case tonight but it really is eerily quiet
I know that it is a very poor game with both teams looking like relegation candidates (from a creating chances viewpoint) than champs league contenders but still with all that is at stake I would have expected a better atmosphere than this

Re: Everton at home
That was a shockingly poor 45 minutes
Giroud missed a sitter and our passing/movement has been as bad as I've ever seen it
- on a positive note, the second half can't possibly be as bad!

I love wilshere's toughness and like of a hard tackle......tonight he is nothing like that and if saying that makes me a non Gooner then your standards to qualify as a Gooner are as wacky as jd's

Says you wishing everything against us to suit your agenda of Arsene out

sorry to disappoint but i really dont see Arsene stepping down or being given the boot if we finish outside the top 4 so how about supporting the team and wanting the best possible result?
if you support or love the team, you want the best for them at every stage, if you want them (team and manager) to fail, then what type of support is that and what kind of supporter are you?
I want out of top 4 but then again so does many Gooners. I want wenger gone but then so does many Gooners. That is a far cry from wishing everything against us and my feelings are not that different to many others[/quote]
Don't know if that is aimed at me but the last post fucked up and someone elses quote wa below mine, see my edited post, but just for clarification I NEVER want Arsenal to lose, changes to happen yes but will always want us to win

Re: Everton at home
The difference between the two sides tactically is astounding. They've been very disciplined and we've rarely (if ever) looked like punishing them for being over-zealous in their pursuit to press high and hard by zipping the ball round them. By contrast, our pressing game if awful. We stand off until one individual gets it in their head they need to press in and wildly charges towards the man in possession, and more often than not given that they're too late getting there and/or nobody's covering the man who's come out to press, they are able to either spin the man or pass it round us.
Why oh why did we ditch the solid team shape and pressing ethic that we showed first few games this season like at Stoke and Liverpool? Does Wenger think it was some coincidence that we conceded barely any chances those games?
If Rosicky wants to justify being at the club (no justifying his wages and length of contract in any case imo) then this is exactly the sort of game where we need him to come on and shake things up with movement, footwork, vision and sharp passing because Wilshere sure as hell isn't offering us that. Especially as Everton will eventually tire and you'd imagine at some point they'll commit more numbers forward seeing as a point isn't really enough for them in hte circumstances. Also Podolski would more of a threat with the ball at his feet, but in fairness to Giroud although he has had almost no impact and should definitely have scored we're losing the ball long before it gets into a position where he could reasonably do something with it.

Is this the online gooner version of milwall fighting each other in the stands?LeftfootlegendGooner wrote:Boo fuckin hoo, no team has a right to win things and as we have the 4th highest wage bill then 4th is realistic but you have admitted that you want us to lose thus out of the top 4, why not watch something else till your dreams come trueaugie wrote:LeftfootlegendGooner wrote:augie wrote:LeftfootlegendGooner wrote:

I shouldn't have to justify my qualifications as a Gooner to you or anyone else but I will say this......I support the club more than the team - I want sacrifices from this team that will force changes that will hopefully improve the club going forward. If you think that qualifying for the champs league each year and traveling the same well trodden path is good for us then maybe we have different expectations
