As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

With any luck he won't have to make that decision this summer.
Took me a moment to realise what you meant
In all seriousness I cannot see him walking away this summer whatever happens. It would be admitting that he's no longer the best man for the job (and essentially also that all the philosophies and analyses he's continually given over the past few years are wrong) and for a man that becomes incredibly defensive when any allegation of fault is suggested it's far too much.
I don't think he'll extend his contract either because he knows that fans are turning and despite his unparalleled stubbornness he looks wearier and wearier every year and seems to get less enjoyment from the job.
I hope the board aren't stupid enough to allow him to (help) choose his successor when he goes. Although I think they will seeing as they probably couldn't even name half the managers currently in the PL. Is he going to want to be followed a well-known manager who will demand that cash is spent and refuse to mollycoddle underachievers? No - he'll want that little-known Croatian or Serbian fella appointed who will do exactly as he has done, and then he can continue claiming credit (if there is any to be had) beyond his management of the club.
Anyone who witnessed Jeremie Aliadiere’s volleyed finish deep into injury time to put Lorient into the semi-finals of the Coupe de France at the expense of Saint-Etienne on Tuesday will be stunned to know that it was the same player who left the UK just two years ago.
The 30-year-old, brought to Arsenal by Arsene Wenger in 1999, arrived at Highbury with a reputation as being France’s next big thing—he never lived up to that tag.
It was not through a lack of ability that Aliadiere did not succeed, though. It was a cruel series of unfortunate injuries that curtailed the best part of his career and stunted his growth in the Premier League.
Now, 14 years later, the Frenchman is finally being able to prove Wenger’s talent-spotting ability correct with a stellar season in Ligue 1. Aliadiere’s career is taking a turn for the better that many never would have predicted, and the Rambouillet native has been one of the French top-flight’s revelations of the season.
According to Wikipedia Wenger helped him secure his move to Lorient.
As if it's not bad enough that he won't sign any strikers for Arsenal he goes around signing them for everybody else! Like signing Campbell to go and score 5 goals in 50 games for Lorient and Betis, or signing Park to go and play for Celta Vigo.
he'd have improved our squad
as would Henry on loan, Owen, Milito, even Kevin fucking Phillips
we didn't need to 'kill' the young members of our squad - or prevent signing a main target (Villa? Lewandowski?)
we should have bought in a stopgap

Look mate, I know it's going to be difficult to comprehend but.....
....the media,
they, they actually don't just lie, they make things up.
That £70m war chest they speak of, well if it actually existed at all, it has more chance of ending up in Wengers personal current account over the next ten years than it does being spent on new crap players.

To be honest, I would....
Superb fucking player. Don't care about what he's like off the pitch, I actually like the fact that he's a bit of a *word censored* and gives it to the oppo. We need some of that nastiness.
I like the idea of going large on one quality forward
presumably we will sell Sagna + Flappy & Arshavin will go
Bellerin could be promoted and we have plenty of attacking players in the youth team and on loan
but we still need an exp backup goalie
(bring back Taylor or Manninger!)

Sure we would make the money back on shirt sales and we MIGHT even win sonething (for a change!), We really do need at least one 'banner' signing this summer and I do believe he will push for a move during the window. We are piss poor I know but Liverpool are total shit, a shame a once great club has been allowed to slump so far (Liverpool I mean ).
We are a club crying out for a hero, an iconic player to lift the gloom that plagues our once great club.
