SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Hard to know which part was funnier.....the fact that we would actually sign mignolet or the suggestion that it would be impossible for a club like ours to prise begovic (who I think is over-rated btw) from a club like stoke

Rather than the recent 'reasonably' priced Forehead, Giroud etc I'd rather we spent the lot on a top forward. Suarez would do nicely.

Former Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou, 27, says he would be interested in a summer move to Arsenal from his current side Lille.
Full story: the Sun
Alex Song is keen on a return to Arsenal after growing frustrated with his role at Barcelona, according to cousin and former Liverpool defender Rigobert. The 25-year-old moved to the Spanish club from the Gunners last season for £17m but has made just 15 appearances.

Why the hate on Song? He did well for us. I wouldn't mind seeing him back, but he isn't a holding midfielder.

Song is brainless. He goes wondering when he's supposed to hold, commits pathetic fouls in dangerous positions because he isn't where he is supposed to be therefore has to lunge and overall is average at best. Pretty much sums up the recent years of Arsene FC we need to move on from the likes of Song. £17 million was a steal from Barcelona and to give them some of that cash back would be ridiculous

Are you on a windup here?!

No hatred for him but Song was appallingly shit for most of his time at Arsenal, only raising his game to the level of average at most for a brief period. He deffo improved during that period, but it was from shit to average. He was a liability. He gave away possession when under no pressure, or under pressure of his own doing by delaying on the ball. He gave away dozens of stupid unnecessary free kicks by just bundling into people in that slow lethargic way he had – usually around 20 to 25 yards out. He was a danger to teammates by passing hospital balls at them when they were marked and thus likely to get clattered – and that was only when he didn’t fire his passes straight out into touch 5 yards behind his intended target. He had the turning circle of an oil tanker.

We robbed the Whores blind when we sold him and that deal must go down as possibly Wenger’s best ever transfer deal. Ever. 8)

Even better than the £1m-per-stone deal he got for Kolo

Song is a complete useless wanker, and it's the only bit of business over the last 6 seasons that I actually applaud Wenger for doing, if he was to come back I wouldn't be happy one bit!

If this one happens then someone please track down Baba and get him back in the room

He's got 200 messages from McDowell to respond to along the lines of "....you said we'd sign Kalou....just admit you got it wrong"

Not Kalou again :D !
Suppose he is an improvement on Gervinho.

If QRP get relegated then the perennial Loic Remy will be back in the mix too, though I think he would be a decent addition if the price is right.

Loic Remy. I can see Wenger breaking our transfer record for him, especially if he is on the cheap.
Arsene knows.

btw, what is our transfer record? Did it include dozens of books of green shield stamps?
