Yeah, they had been trying for years to move there but got no help at all. Suddenly a rugby club wants to move there and the council let them.

My concern is Canons Park Tube station.
Great that it is right by the Hive, but it has three ticket gates plus the "pushchair" gate...how does that work when a crowd turns up for a game?

pretty much sums it up matenorthbank123 wrote:I wouldn't put it in those terms myself but I don't think you can (or would) deny that games will be treasured a lot more if they ultimately count for something. That Chelsea game may still bring a half-smile when I think about Cech flapping at thin air or Fabregas scything down Cole at the death but I don't really see any context that make me view it with glee beyond the normal happiness of beating those wankers.beck wrote:it depends if you think games only carry intrinsic value if you go on to win said competition?northbank123 wrote:Do you really treasure that 1-0 win against Chelsea? Yeah it was great at the time (although I preferred the win against Spurs the following week because we played fucking shit for most of the game) but doesn't stand out for me. Just another reminder of what could/should have been that season and what a turning point it was.
i agree entirely that the overiding feeling is that we should have won the league and seen out that champs league tie at anfield that season and it sticks in the craw but i as much as i love winning trophys and believe it what our business in football should be this was a nostalgic look at a bygone age had anfield 89 not happened would the gentlemans memory of beating spurs that day still not carried merit?
our nadir was the 75/76 season but i still have fond memorys of john radfords last min winner at highbury v liverpool
I certainly look back with a lot more fondness and pride at 1-0 wins at Old Trafford in 98 and 02, even though our side in 06 that won there was far inferior and it was a far more surprising result.
but i would still say our 02 win came in the prawn sandwich era.
i still believe trophys mean happy supporters and its always been the way
always had a giggle going over the arsenal but its better when you win

What were you expecting - 200 posts along the lines of "great post NFG - how sad"? That's just how threads develop, at least it's easily linked back to the post and not just degenerated into a Wenger-hate thread.nut flush gooner wrote:Blimey amazing how a thread can go off piste![]()

I'd imagine that you if put your ticket in the gate and it's the right fare, it will open. Those with pushchairs will opt to go through the pushchair gate. Don't worry too much.

They run the risk of injuries because that station is not designed for crowds.

Allianz Park has astroturf designed for rugby, that is one of the many reasons.Natural Born Gooner wrote:Surprised they're moving out of the borough, and not to Allianz Park (Copthall) which Saracens recently moved into

You are right though, if they draw a big team in the cup it's a disaster waiting to happen.

Always sad when a club leaves their spiritual home. Did anyone else see David Dein in their clubhouse on the Football League Show?

They can draw us in the quarter-finals of the League Cup. We never lose those to lower division clubs now do we?skizz_b wrote:In this elf n safety age I think some guy with a hard hat did a risk assessment...once....QuartzGooner wrote:Why the sarcasm?Perryashburtongroves wrote:QuartzGooner wrote:My concern is Canons Park Tube station.

LOL superior to barnet do me a favour. There was a spell of 3 or 4 seasons that enfield topped the alliance premier league. When it became the conference they where nowhere to be seen.afcforever wrote:I remember when Enfield lost there stadium, sold out by the greedy **** Lazarou. I remember one enfield vs barnet game that was on MOTD, I think it was an fa cup tie which barnet won. Anyway why did you support enfield, they where all spuds and barnet where gooners.
