Arsenal v Manure

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Our last three matches we have been poor, and got undeserved with points. We could easily have got 2pts instead of 7. The results were just papering over the cracks.
This match however, should be the be all and end all. We cannot allow them to celebrate being champs at our ground, (I expect them to wrap it up on Monday night anyway). we have to send a clear message to the toilet that we're prepared to snatch 4th from them. The momentum is with them after their win against City.

Of course it's for the virtual trophy and I couldn't give a toss about that, but I do have some pride and do not ever want my team to lose to this lot.

I honestly think this is much win now. As soon as I heard Alan Shearer say we'd drop out the top 4 I knew he was right. I had a very bad feeling they'd beat City. We have to win all 4 because I can see Spurs winning 4/5 games.

Whatever happens we have to beat Whiskey nose and worst of all their plastic fans. I'm sure everyone has someone they know who is a part time Manure glory hunter and they make life unbearable if/when they turn us over.

The guard of honour is sickening enough but we must not lose to them

When the Mancs win the title tomorrow night they'll be coming down in relaxed mood, probably playing squad players that need to play the remaining matches to get a medal

I can see a ONE ARSENE WENGER kind of 2-1 win. I thought City would win today so had no doubts United would smash us if the game meant something to them but if it doesn't mean much then virtual trophy glory could start early and the new contract could be signed before the season's even finished......happy days indeed

Undeserved points?????????????? We left it late against Norwich, but it could of been 8-1.

Sadly if yahnited are on holiday next Sunday and we beat them, Lord Venker will be giving it large that we are only a few % behind them, and we don't have to do much to strengthen the squad. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I suppose with Giroud getting a ban we will see Podolski up top ( unless Wenger really doe have a massive problem with him ) Will be a good chance for him

I expect a win, don't understand why people see the game in terms of summer spend
whether a win is an excuse not to, or a defeat could inspire spending
8-2 didn't change Wenger's mind (almost nothing does) he just needed the Na$ri and Cesc money confirmed before spending

IMO those decisions were/are taken quite early

A win against ManUre improves our good Prem home record against them
which has a small psychological meaning, we need to see ourselves as their rivals

No title challenge next year would, I think, be a bridge too far for Wenger

I they are already champions, I can see Ferguson not even having Judas van Staplecunt in the squad. Why bother with the aggro? I seem to remember him or another manager admitting to not playing someone at their former club to avoid the crowd reaction.

I think we will win. We beat them a couple of seasons ago when they were going for the title. Goal from Ramsey. And after that everyone thought it was Chelsea in the driving seat for the title, but the Mancs recovered and won it.

I hope they win tonight and that they are so hung over come Sunday we get some sort of a result .
Having our former heartthrobs paraded before us no longer leaves me feeling like a cuckholded husband nor will be the guard of honour any bother as long as we get something from the game .

Finishing above Tottenham now means everything ,always has and always has done ,we have been lucky in that wasn't even on the agenda for 20 plus years but it's there staring at us like a dog shit on the kitchen floor ,a steaming pile of hotspur that needs to be cleaned up.
That the Virtual Trophy depends on it makes it all the more important .
We have been getting away with crap performances recently ,we need this to continue .

Make no mistake either if we do not qualify for the CL the resulting loss of revenue will be taken out of the War Chest never to be seen again, this will lead to a very sharp downturn in fortunes as we have no crown jewel to sell bar
Wilshere and he isn't as good as we would like him to be.
He reminds me less and less of Fabregas and more and more like scott parker.
We have been playing crap and getting away with for some time now .
