SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Tht would top the sell on clause we had inserted in david bentleys sale to blackburn who sold him to them and we reaped 5m upwards from tht deal :barscarf:

Not a bad shout for the scum actually. Parker is useless for anything but a sideways pass and has no pace. If you stick Song next to sandro as the 2 in a 4-2-3-1 formation, I think that's a pretty decent pairing.

Who is going to be sold this Summer then?

Sagna for sure.....perhaps some of the crap we have accumulated for a tenth of the price we paid / invested in them.....any others?

Fat chance we'll be able to move any of the dross on...........
Agree Sagna's off, vermaelen too. And it wouldn't surprise me to see Coquelin and Frimpong look for pastures new.

THERE WILL BE NO NET SPENDING IF WE DO NOT QUALIFY FOR THE CL.

There will be some reshuffling ,Sagnas Podolski and prehaps Vermaerlan out ,plus a few fringe players we need like Coq ,but otherwise that will be it and any money we raise he will spend down the pound shops of europe and africa ie belgium and france !

I'm not sure Herd. On one hand our revenues would take the obvious hit and given our past policy it makes perfect sense for us to buckle the belt even tighter. On the other hand it wouldn't be unthinkable for Kroenke to protect his investment, allow us to spend (net) £20-30m in order to get into top 4 next year rather than continue to slide down the slippery slope Liverpool have.

Either way, we are certainly dependent on 4th place and would suffer a massive detriment if we missed out, unlike Spurs.

Podolski is probably the most natural finisher we have in the squad, and if we sell him it will be another case of shooting ourselves in the foot!
Fuck knows what he's done to piss Wenker off so much that he hardly starts a game now.....

North Bank, Kroenke will let things take their place ,he will not urge them to spend ,and they will not spend unless they qualify for CL ,and even then it won't be much above ,Max 10/15 million .
Kroenke has been told that no matter what Arsenal will continue to be able to charge high prices to endless punters and they are right to some degree as the facilities beat anything in London and we are close to the City and the West End.
Despite the slow decline they have not wished to spend but they've always told us about the War Chest available yet they dont spend .
Why would they change now,fan pressure,I don't think so ?

Without CL we will not net spend and the decent will accelerate in ever rapid spirals ,lets face it the decline has been very very slow in general and NON EXISTENT in league positions to date ,as far as the record books show, despite losing quality players every year since 2006.

The people that wish us to do so as catalyst for change of Manager and spending habits are delusional in the extreme !

I want us to get above the red sea pedestrians and qualify above all else ,anything else will be am ever quickening descent into the abyss !
